If you are going through legal proceedings under Ontario law, all limitation periods are currently suspended, due to the COVID-19 outbreak. If you are unsure whether your legal matter is under Ontario law or Canadian law, ask for a legal opinion on whether this new rule applies to you.

For those who are currently struggling to pay their energy bill, the Ontario Energy Board has ruled that energy companies cannot disconnect your service for unpaid bills until July 31, 2020.

Currently, unless there are illegal activities being carried out in a unit, or there is a danger to safety, the Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) is not ordering evictions or scheduling hearings for evictions. All other matters are proceeding at the LTB by telephone or in writing.
