Events update: Although the Provincial government has started a three phase re-launch and some facilities and businesses have already reopened as of today, social distancing and the limit to the number of participants will still be in effect. As a result, no golf tournaments will be allowed. So unfortunately our annual Family Golf Tournament and BBQ in July are cancelled We have also been advised that Carifest is cancelled too.... We expect that the Caribbean Sports day will also be cancelled. The Portuguese Association building adjacent to Our Lady of Fatima church will not be re-opening for the remainder of this year and as such, we will be unable to have the Taste of Guyana. While this is all very disappointing, it is not unexpected as we try to curb the spread of Covid-19. When restrictions are lifted we hope to resume our events in the new year. Stay safe everyone! To Our Members and Friends: As you are all aware, our City, Province and Country are going through the toughest times any of us have ever experienced. Due to the continuing Mandatory restrictions on mass gatherings, all events and meetings are cancelled until further notice. These are circumstances beyond our control. ... Our Annual General Meeting normally scheduled in the month of May where we elect a new executive is postponed until further notice. In light of this, the current executive body will stay in place until such time as we can reschedule our AGM. Please bear in mind that these are exceptional circumstances and Government orders supersede our By-Laws. We encourage all members to take the various Government recommendations to stay home, observe physical distancing, wash your hands frequently etc.etc. The more we cooperate the earlier we can all get back to normal.
