A trip to the Gilbert's Cove Lighthouse in Digby County offers some peace and relaxation, along with beautiful views. TINA COMEAU How many times while driving on Route 1 part of the Highway 101 drive between Weymouth and Digby have you glanced towards the horizon for a view of the Gilbert’s Cove Lighthouse? More importantly, how many times have you ever stopped for a closer look? If you’ve got the time for the side trip, we recommend it. Dating back to 1904, the Gilbert’s Cove Lighthouse has been restored and cared for by the volunteers of the Gilbert’s Cove and District Historical Society. The sign that greets people and this relaxing spot reads, All are welcome to visit and enjoy.
