Feeling Sick? Here's What to Do. As many of you will be aware, there have been some recent changes to the guidlines for those under 18 in terms of student illness and Covid-19. We are excited about our spooky classroom celebrations tomorrow! Your child's homeroom teacher will have information about any planned activities. Costumes are welcomed, but they must be school-appropriate, weapons are not permitted, and Covid-19 expectations about masking in schools must be adhered to. Enjoy the day!

This year Halloween festivities at GCMS will be a bit different. Our regular school-wide Spookapalooza activities will not be happening, but homerooms may have some other fun things happening to celebrate the spooky season! FOGS usually has a wonderful concession fundraiser at Spookapolooza, but this year they have switched it up. FOGS will be selling prepackaged tubs of Cotton Candy for $5 for delivery to students at school for Halloween (Friday October 30th). Please comple...te and return the order form and payment by Wednesday, October 21st. Thank you for supporting FOGS and the Greystone school community! Please dress for the weather! The weather is starting to turn a bit colder and it can be unpredictable at best, in a single day we can have 4 seasons including sun, rain, snow, and wind! The snow might be here tomorrow morning, so please be prepared. Students should have an appropriate coat, mitts, warm hat, and outdoor footwear when they head to school for the day. Students will be safe and comfortable if they are dressed for the weather conditions, and they will be expected to be outside for breaks unless the weather is very inclement. It is also important to have appropriate clothing when riding the bus, as the temperatures on a school bus can drop dramatically in the event of mechanical problems. Stay warm, wear a coat!

We are so proud of our school community. Those toonies and larger donations really add up, and GCMS raised over $600 in donations for the Terry Fox Foundation this year. Thank you for your support; we are so grateful to be able to make this donation to support cancer research and carry on Terry's Marathon of Hope.

Just a reminder that there is no school at Greystone Centennial Middle School on October 9th (Staff Professional Development) or October 12th (Thanksgiving). Wishing all of our GCMS families a healthy and safe long weekend with lots to be thankful for. Take care of each other. All of us are very thankful to be part of such a supportive learning community!
