The junior high soccer team begins the playoffs on Tuesday! Game time is 4:30pm at the Montague Intermediate School field.

The volleyball regular season schedules have been released by the PEISAA. Note that times for a couple games may change due to the availability of officials.

A mola is a fabric craft that the Kuna women from Panama create. These ornate layered fabric pieces are worn and used as a bodice in their traditional dress. The Gr. 10-12 art classes were inspired by the Kuna people and created paper molas using images that we see all around us on Prince Edward Island. Check out some of their designs!

The junior high soccer team completed its regular season today with another 4-0 win over EFB. Desmond, Jonathan N, Beatrice, and Devon capped off the scoring while Lucas earned another shutout in nets. Playoffs are next week!

Congratulations to Mrs. Lael de Boer and her husband Feije on the arrival of their sweet baby girl, Millie Leah! She was born yesterday, Sept. 24 and we look forward to meeting little Millie soon!

For a minimum donation of $2, students from grades 7 -12 can participate in a casual day fundraiser for cancer research in honor of Terry Fox tomorrow. Elementary students are welcome to participate in the fundraiser and give their donations to their teacher.

Join us in celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Grace Christian School! The founding of Grace Christian School became a reality because of the vision and determination of those who recognized the need for quality education taught from a Biblical world-view. In 1978, Grace Kindergarten began, however just two years later, Grace Christian School opened its doors to thirty-two students from grades K-6. In 1990, GCS became a member school of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and today, is home to approximately 200 students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. Throughout the school year, we will be highlighting milestones, checking in with alumni, and celebrating the continuous growth of GCS!

Due to the pending weather forecast associated with Hurricane Teddy, Grace Christian School will remain closed for the day- Wednesday, September 23rd.

We are happy to announce that GCS has won the title of 2019-2020 Vocabulary Bowl Prince Edward Island Provincial Champion! More than 1.6 million students from 47,000 schools across North America participated in the Bowl this year and mastered more than 41.5 million words. Between Oct. 1 - Apr. 30, GCS students mastered 15,727 more words than any other school in PEI. Both Misato S. and Vivian D. were top finishers in words mastered for GCS! Today every GCS student ran or walked laps of the school’s soccer field with their cohort in tribute to Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope. GCS is honoured to be part of Canada’s biggest support for the fight against cancer and to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Marathon of Hope. @TerryFoxCanada

Don’t forget that Meet the Teacher is today from 3pm - 4pm. This is a time for parents that are new to GCS to meet their child’s teacher or for returning parents to meet any new teachers. A few things to remember: Upon entering the building, parents will be required to wear a non-medical mask and complete a health questionnaire form, please ensure your time with teachers is kept to minimum so others have the opportunity to meet various teachers and please limit the amount of people in your party.

What a great first week and start to the 2020-21 school year!

Throughout the day, students took part in a collaborative art project that tied into this year’s theme verse. With this project the fencing will represent our anxiety, but the colourful cloths will represent our prayers, petitions and requests that we bring to God. We will weave these cloths through the fencing to represent how we can give our concerns to God. - Mrs. Wilting
