Heart 2 Heart First Aid CPR Training presents a Johnston-Brais initiative that provides a free 2.5 hour specialized training course in Overdose Prevention Resuscitation (OPR) and supplies for those who are most likely to encounter, witness, or experience opioid poisoning. Registration will open May 7, 2021. Courses start June 1, 2021.

So far the only places we are aware of that are booking vaccine appointments for people under 50 who do not meet any other Phase 2 criteria are 40 Oak St and Wellesley Community center. These are both operated by Unity Health and can be booked online.

If the first phase of the pilot is successful, the initiative will expand to 30 bins for an additional three months and then to 100 bins for another six months.

The City and its partners are working hard to get everyone, especially our most vulnerable, vaccinated quickly so that we may limit the impacts of COVID-19. Starting tomorrow at 8 a.m., residents age 50 and older living in COVID-19 hot spot postal codes will be able to book vaccination appointments at City-operated immunization clinics. Registration is available through www.toronto.ca/covid-19 and the Provincial Vaccine Information Line at 1-888-999-6488.... Ontario Health Teams and hospital mobile clinics and pop-ups will be vaccinating people age 18 and older in these neighbourhoods, identified by their postal codes. Some hospital immunization clinics are also vaccinating younger residents who live in specific priority neighbourhoods and local residents with highest-risk and high-risk medical conditions. Hot spot areas are neighbourhoods identified by the Province of Ontario with ongoing and historic high rates of COVID-19 transmission, hospitalization and death. Seaton House men’s shelter, located on George Street, and its adjacent properties will be transformed into a new shared facility, providing a dynamic range of housing, programs and services to meet the unique and complex needs of individuals experiencing homelessness, as well as vulnerable and elderly individuals in the community. The project will result in a long-term care home, a transitional living facility, an emergency shelter, affordable housing, and a community hub serving residents of the site and the local neighbourhood.
