Introducing our TRANS health navigator! The Trans Health project runs out of the U of S, and in partnership with UR Pride Centre for Sexuality and Gender Divers...ity! We are very excited to be announcing this pilot project and begin to identify gaps in the current health care system, while working to improve access for trans and gender diverse people in SK. Eli (he/him) is the new Saskatoon-based TRANS Peer Health Navigator and Research Assistant. His role is to provide guidance and support for trans and gender-diverse people in navigating healthcare. He will also be a source of information to health care providers by helping them develop a greater knowledge base and awareness around providing inclusive care. Elijah is a queer trans guy that was born and raised on Treaty 6, home of the Métis, in Saskatoon, SK. Eli is a recent graduate from the Medical Office Assistant program at Mckay Career Training. He is a cat step-dad to 2 wonderful cats Schrödinger and Rorschach and when he isn’t at the office you can usually catch him at the beach. Eli is now accepting clients from Saskatoon and North!! One more reminder about this event happening tomorrow!
Hello everyone! This week’s Gender Revolution meeting will be about navigating gendered products. Getting affirming basic clothing like socks and undergarments and personal care (shampoo, deodorant, etc.) can be great as far as gender euphoria goes, but also difficult to navigate if they’re new to you! Let’s share some tips on Thursday
This week's topic as chosen by Gender Revolution is trans jealousy. Although we may deeply want to celebrate our friends' milestones with them, it can still feel painful and difficult to see others achieving steps in their transition that we haven't or can't take. On Thursday we will hold space for sharing times we have felt this jealousy and then pool our coping strategies to talk about how best to manage these feelings of jealousy.
This week's topic as voted by our members is the relationship between sexual orientation and gender identity! This topic has so much nuance and so much room to showcase the beautiful diversity of trans and gender diverse folks and our experiences, and I'm really excited to discuss it with you all. Message this page if you need the link to join our Zoom meeting!
