Imagine Wood Buffalo without Keyano Theatre. This could be our reality very soon. Use that beautiful voice of yours and let our esteemed Mayor and Council know ...that performance arts in our region and Keyano Theatre matter. Next Tuesday, December 1st, Keyano College is presenting to Council regarding the Municipal budget, in which the College is recommended $0 by the Municipal administration. Keyano College’s budget request is meant to cover the cost for Keyano Theatre & Arts Centre and the Syncrude Sports and Wellness Centre. Keyano Theatre & Arts Centre has played a huge role in establishing and maintaining theatre and the performing arts in our region; not only as a producer of community theatre, but as a supporter of other arts organizations, a partner, and arts champion. Keyano Theatre has been an incubator of careers, it supports the important local artists, and contributes to the quality of life in the region with exceptional shows for the community to enjoy. If performance arts and Keyano Theatre have had a positive impact on your life, the life of those around you, or the overall community, whether it’s as an actor, audience member, volunteer, student, or rental client - please consider letting Council know!
