HOME SALES & PRICES KEEP SURGING...how wrong was CMHC a year ago... Throughout the pandemic, housing prices have surged with low borrowing costs and stay-at-home orders increasing competition for bigger properties. Last month, Canada's average home selling price climbed 31.6 per cent year-over-year, according to the Canadian Real Estate Association. At the same time, home sales hit a new record with 76,259 home resales and actual sales up 76.2 per cent from the previous year.
