We would like all of you to meet Amelia! She started working out at Genesis in June 2020 after Covid restrictions were lifted Something she noticed immediately and fell in love with is the community vibe and no-judgement feel other gym members put forward ... Another aspect Amelia pointed out was that the staff has been extremely friendly and encouraging. She first came to our club to train with Kat in order to focus on her law enforcement physical testing, whereby they did a lot of endurance training leading up to the exams. Since then, the two have switched to more strength focused training Be on the lookout as Amelia continues to take the gym by storm in 2021

Never underestimate the benefits of adding a functional day into your routine Chasing aesthetics is always great, but at the end of the day if you can't do anything with your body, how good of shape are you really in? Most people understand that functional training increases flexibility and coordination, improves balance and posture, reduces your risk of injury, but in the end what it really does is makes you more athletic ... If you want to learn to move like a professional athlete, try mixing in at least one day of some functional movements and watch your compound lifts progress as well
Let's talk about the Rogue GHD machine we have on our floor. A lot of people see this machine around the gym but don't know how to use it, and are too intimidated to give it a try. So, what the heck does GHD even stand for? ... It means Glute & Hamstring Developer. Many of you are probably reading that thinking "Wow! There's a whole machine that literally has 'developer' in its name? Must be good!" If you were thinking that, you are totally right! The GHD is an incredibly diverse machine. Through various positions you can hold on it, the machine offers a number of ways in which you can strengthen your hamstrings, grow your glutes, increase mobility in your hip flexors, and work on your lower back via back extensions Give this machine a try next leg day and take notice of its effectiveness
Leah has been working hard all year on her squats and she has seen some insane progress in her strength while underneath the barbell We are big proponents of barbell squats here at Genesis, and nothing makes us happier than seeing our community members progress in their lifts
