Keep a look out for #ticks this weekend! Fall is here, and with the cooling weather adult blacklegged ticks are out searching for a meal before winter. Make sure it isn't you or your loved ones! Whenever possible, stay to the center of trails, wear light coloured clothing, and do thorough and frequent tick checks. If you have to venture off trail, consider tucking your pants in to your socks to minimize exposed skin. In case you don't know what to look for, check out the seco...nd for a comparison of male and female black legged ticks! You can see the larger female in the center with a smaller dorsal shield, and the smaller males around her with a larger shield. Neither tick is bigger than 3-4 mm long! #tick #tickseason #outdoors #lymedisease #lyme #nature #hiking #hikingadventures #fall #falloutdoors #autumn #autumnvibes #ontario #canada #ontarioisbeautiful #lymeontario #lymewarrior #chronicillness #blackleggedtick #ontarioparks #conservationarea #science
