My coach, Joanne Brine, suggests I write every morning after my Yoga practice. This is Day 3. Even after all these years of Yoga practice it takes self-discipline to get out of the warmth and coziness of the bed, pull something stretchy on and start the practice. The bed keeps beckoning me back. But I know my day will be a better one with even a few minutes of breathing exercises, and 10-15 minutes of postures. I will move with more ease, be more present and content, an...d make better decisions and choices throughout the day. About mid-afternoon I will do what feels like an energy reset: either the corpse pose or legs-up-the-wall for 15-20 minutes. It does not take much time throughout my day for body, mind, soul tune-ups.
Wade and I got our Covid vaccine today at the coliseum and one thing I noticed is there were so many people with mobility issues that could really benefit from the Yoga classes I guide. How do I get the word out to help people get more comfortable in their bodies?
Grateful to a life-long friend who hooked me up with on-line Yoga Instructor Pedro Luna in Florida. If the only thing stopping you from participating in a yoga class is that you cannot get down on the floor, or your knees are painful when on them you will enjoy the yogic experience in the classes I teach. I modify postures so you can get all the benefits without getting on the floor or on your knees. Be in touch if you want to know more.
I was truly blessed when Covid hit to have everything I needed. We had just gotten back from a month in Cuba where I was teaching yoga on the beach at a resort, had haircuts, a pedicure and lots of groceries. One of my first thoughts was "What can I do for others?". Teaching free online yoga classes was the answer. I had never done online teaching and I am technologically-challenged. But I made it happen.
