West Grey council is planning to adopt the 2021 budget at a meeting May 4. It includes an increase of $554,856 or 5.4%. This means an increase on property taxes of about $39.74 per $100,000 of residential assessment. Foodland Durham is eliminating plastic bags. Apparently they will have inexpensive cloth bags available though.

On Mar. 2, council supported Orangeville's request that Ontario develop a plan to phase-out all gas-fired electricity generation, with an emphasis on proven renewable energy technologies, so we can achieve our climate action goals.

Council supported the recommendation of the Traffic Safety Group to run a pilot project for speed cushions or similar traffic control measures on Saddler Street E. in Durham. Here are some in use in another municipality:
