Congratulations to Dr. Mark Terry for officially becoming a member of the Canadian Royal Society on Friday, Nov. 27th, 2020. His work using a GIS platform to share hundreds of 3-minute videos made by international youth used to inform policymakers regarding climate change and other environmental issues is known as the Geo-Doc. Dr. Terry was first invited by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in 2009 to screen his film, 'The Antarctica Challenge-A Global Warning', at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change at COP, and followed it up the next year with 'The Polar Explorer'. He has since created a new multi-linear, temporal, locative, evolving form of a documentary film comprised of the student videos, called the Youth Climate Report.

The Youth Climate Report is an evolving form of a documentary film called the Geo-Doc, using a GIS map as its platform. It is a multilinear, interactive, database in which youth from around the world produce and submit 3-minute videos in which they interview scientists, collect data and information regarding issues, and solutions relating to climate change and the environment to be used to inform both the public and policymakers. Videos are juried by map creator Dr. Mark Terry and members of the United Nations Framework on Climate Change.
