Every October, Ontario Association of Children's Aid Societies raise awareness about the important role that individuals and communities play in supporting vulnerable children, youth, and families through the provincial Dress Purple Day campaign. The campaign is more important than ever, since the COVID-19 pandemic has created additional stressors for families, and in some cases has increased risk for the well-being and safety of children and youth. Show us your purple in the comments!

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Elizabeth Ridgely, former Executive Director of the George Hull Centre, on October 21, 2020. Our thoughts are with Libby’s family. Her contribution to clinical excellence and family focus at the George Hull Centre created a legacy that lives on today. Friends and colleagues unanimously describe her as a force of nature. For me, personally, she was the reason why I became a social worker. She had a no nonsense, straight-f...orward approach that was to be admired and an incredible passion for helping people. As a leader, she was inspirational. As a clinician, she was exceptional. And she will be missed by many. Susan Chamberlain, Executive Director, George Hull Centre for Children & Families
