Hi everyone, we are interviewing prospective counsellors between now and the first week of May. If anyone is interested, please send me an email at [email protected] We won’t be able to hire anyone until we have the government guidelines, which we hope to have in May. Happy spring everyone!
Hi everyone! I hope you are all well, I am sure you would all like some news about the Georgeville Recreation Programme for this summer. It’s been a tough time for everyone, and it would be nice to have something to look forward to. The Community Association of Georgeville would like to offer the Recreation Programme this summer - in a modified format. This means there will be a cap on the number of children we will accept and all programme activities will take place outdoors.... At this point, we are not able to confirm specific details related to the programme, but are closely following public health rules and guidances for this summer’s recreational activities. We anticipate having further information to communicate about hiring counsellors, CITs and programme registration by April/May. Please check the site for updates to come. Prospective counsellors may contact me to express interest, as may prospective CITs. We will be sure to communicate any updates on interviews as soon as possible. Thanks in advance for your ongoing patience and please do let me know if you have any questions about this summer’s Recreation Programme. Warm regards, Deirdre Ensink
Hi all, The Community Association of Georgeville Board of Directors have determined that the risks to our Georgeville community during this COVID-19 outbreak are too great to allow the Georgeville Recreation Programme to take place in summer 2020. We regret that there will be no programme this year, but it was necessary to take this decision. I hope you are all well. Stay safe and healthy! Kind regards, Deirdre Hill Ensink
We have chosen the counsellors for this summer! Charlie Stewart will be head counsellor again, Arianne and Sara Ettehadieh will be our swimming instructor counsellors, and Ian Scott, Iva Armour-Jones, and Riley Khanna will be counsellors. Also Tracy Tailor is helping me with the Georgeville recreation programme this year, for which I am very grateful! We are still accepting applications for CIT’s! CIT’s must be between 14 and 16 years of age. Have a great day! Deirdre
There is still a small window of opportunity to apply for a counsellor position for the Georgeville recreation programme 2020. We will be making our final decision at the end of this month.
Hi everyone! It is that time of year again! The holidays are coming, and I will start taking applications for CIT’s (age 14-16), counsellors (age 17 and up), swimming instructors (age 17 and up), and head counsellor (age 18 and up). So if you are interested in working or volunteering for the Georgeville Recreation Programme 2020, please send me an email at [email protected] Happy Holidays, and stay warm!
Hi everyone, Unfortunately I am unable to send everyone all the photos. But if you give me a USB memory key I can transfer all the photos of both summer 2019 and summer 2018 of the Georgeville recreation programme! Contact me at [email protected] or 819-943-5662
Jeunes amateurs d'histoire au musée Copp's Ferry. Merci, programme de recreation de Georgeville!
Tomorrow we’re going on a farm fieldtrip! We need some parents to volunteer to drive us! And Thursday is the talent show from 6.00 to 7.30 pm! Come see your kids do a fun performance!
Hi everyone, There is a possible case of chickenpox. The parent is not 100% sure it’s chickenpox, but as a precaution we are letting you know. The itchy blister rash caused by chickenpox infection appears 10 to 21 days after exposure to the virus and usually lasts about five to 10 days. Other signs and symptoms, which may appear one to two days before the rash, include: Fever... Loss of appetite Headache Tiredness and a general feeling of being unwell (malaise) As the bumps have now appeared on the camper, it has originated 2-3 weeks ago, so campers who were here 2-3 weeks ago may have been infected. However, if your child has been vaccinated they should be ok.
Tomorrow we have the disgusting dinner at 6.00 pm at our usual place in the Hall. Children are encouraged to bring yummy foods with disgusting names as it is a potluck. It should end around 7.00 pm.
Tomorrow is our Arbre Adventure event! I will need all parents to sign a waiver from Arbre Adventure that I will have with me today when you pick up your kids from camp. Parents will need to drop off their kids at Arbre Adventure in Eastman tomorrow morning at 9.30 am latest. We still need some volunteers to help drive the kids back to camp at 12.30! Children under the age of 9 or under 4 feet 9 are legally required to sit in a booster in the car! Parents make sure that you d...rop off your child’s booster if you are not one of the drivers on the way back!!! The address for Arbre Adventure is 426 chemin George - Bonnallie, Eastman J0E 1P0 We also didn’t make enough money with the car wash and bake sale to cover the price. So we encourage donations to help pay for our outing!
Hi everyone, We have another fun week planned! On Monday we will have an acting workshop led by Hailey Kezber. On Wednesday we will be going to Arbre Adventure in Eastman for zip lining and other fun! Parents will need to drive there kids there instead of Georgeville for 9.30. And we will need volunteers to help drive us back around 1.30 pm. On Thursday we will have our Olympic theme day with lots of fun sports & relays and awards!... Tuesday and Thursday are also our tennis and canoeing days. And Thursday evening we will have a fun evening activity. It will either be a movie night or the disgusting dinner. I will confirm tomorrow what it will be. I hope to see you all tomorrow! See more
Driveway to camp out is at the star. I will hang balloons at the top of the driveway as well.
Camp out is still on for age group 8 and up. Starts at 6.30 pm at Anthemis Bay. Pickup is Friday morning between 8.00 and 8.30 am. We do not provide breakfast. Kids should bring; Tent Sleeping bag & mat Toiletries like toothbrush and paste... Water bottle & snacks Bathing suit & towel Bug spray and/or long sleeves & long pants Younger group (age 4-7) is welcome to roast marshmallows and make s’mores from 6.30-7.30/8.00 pm. Parents are welcome to drink some wine at my cottage during this time. See more
Tomorrow is the bake sale and car wash from 12.30 to 2.00 pm. Parents of the campers if you could be so kind as to remember to bake some goods that would be really appreciated! And everyone please come to get your car washed and buy some baked goods! The proceeds will pay for our fun Arbre adventure excursion next week! Even if it rains, we will still wash cars and sell baked goods!
As of right now the weather is saying it will be dry and warm Thursday! I will confirm tomorrow evening, but right now it looks like the camp out is happening this Thursday! So kids will need to bring their own tents and sleeping bags & mats. They may share a tent with a buddy or a couple of buddies. Kids will also need to bring water bottles, and snacks if they like. There is a lovely beach, so also bring bathing suits and towels.... And of course toothbrushes, hairbrushes and other toiletries they need. The campout is for the older group only. But the younger group can come and roast marshmallows between 6.30 and 7.30/8.00 pm. (Parents of the younger kids are welcome to come drink a glass of wine at my cottage while their kids roast marshmallows) We will not provide breakfast, and kids can be picked up between 8.00 and 8.30 am. The camp out will be at Anthemis Bay. The driveway for Anthemis Bay is off of chemin Georgeville shortly before chemin Birch Bay if you’re coming from Georgeville. I will hang up balloons at the top of the driveway. I will be checking in regularly at the camp out, as my family’s cottage is very close by. See more
Hi everyone! Tonight is the ghost tour from 6.30 pm until 7.30/8.00 pm at 400 chemin Birch Bay. The road is a little confusing, just stick to the right all the way down. Also this week we will have the car wash & bake sale on Wednesday from 12.30 to 2.00 pm. We ask parents to bring some baked goods for this, and we ask everyone to bring their car to be washed! The funds we make will go to our special activity at Arbre Adventure next week. On Thursday evening we have the camp out for the older kids at Anthemis Bay (same spot as last year). It will start at 6.30 pm. The younger kids are welcome to come and roast marshmallows around the campfire from 6.30 until 7.30/8.00 pm.
It will most probably rain quite a bit tomorrow evening. So unless it’s dry we will be doing the ghost tour evening activity on Monday evening instead.
There is a nature art workshop organized by the Memphrémagog conservation and local artists at studio Georgeville for kids aged 7-16! There is still time to sign up, although they would like to know soon!
On Thursday it’s our Halloween theme day! Campers are encouraged to come in a Halloween costume! We will also have a special evening activity Thursday evening! Our very own ghost tour! It will start at 6.30 at my family’s property on 400 chemin Birch Bay. We hope you can make it!
We still need more volunteer drivers tomorrow morning for the nature walk in the marsh in Magog! Please let me know if you can volunteer!
Hi everyone! We have another fun week planned! Tennis and canoeing will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from now on. Tuesdays the younger group does canoeing and the older group does tennis and Thursdays it’s the other way around. On Monday we will be going to the marsh for a nature walk. We currently have 3 volunteers to drive so we still need more parents to volunteer to be drivers!!! Please message me if you can help! On Wednesday we will have an art workshop done by local ar...tist Sonya Rock! She has fun activities planned as well as art. We have many more fun games and activities planned. I hope to see you all on Monday! Please check your children for lice before coming to camp. We will also check them all on a daily basis. See more
We had to close camp for today! We had more lice, and we don’t want to run the risk that it spreads to everyone. There will also be no disgusting dinner tonight. We will have a fresh start on Monday! Have a great weekend!
We are switching the marsh activity to Monday due to not having enough drivers and due to the heat. If you can volunteer to drive on Monday please let me know!
We really need some more volunteers to help drive the kids to the marsh in Magog tomorrow morning. We would leave the hall at 9.30 and we would leave the marsh at 11.30. Please let me know if you can help out!
There has been a case of lice at the recreation programme today. We checked all the other kids and so far nobody else has lice. However check your kids every day for a while. Kids who have lice can not come to camp until they are lice and lice eggs free.
Our float got the 3rd prize!!!
Hi everyone! It’s almost time! I hope you will all come to the Georgeville Canada Day Parade this Saturday! It starts at 1.00! If kids would like to be on our float in the parade, they should be there at 12.30. After the parade the registration starts for the recreation programme in the village square.... Next week we have a lot on the program. On Monday and Tuesday we will be doing tennis and canoeing. One group will do tennis one Monday and canoeing on Tuesdays and the other group will do the opposite. We will also be doing some fun nature activities during those days and more! Wednesday the Memphrémagog conservation organizations will come by to do a workshop/activity with the kids. And on Thursday we will be going on a nature walk in the marsh in Magog. We will need some parents to volunteer to drive!!! Thursday evening we will have our first evening activity; the disgusting dinner! Kids bring food from home that have disgusting names like brains for spaghetti, zombie finger for hotdogs or carrots. I’d like to remind you to bring lunches, snacks and water for the children, we can refill their water bottles when necessary. I’d also like to remind you to bring sunscreen for your child, the counsellors will reapply throughout the day. Children who cannot swim or swim very well need to bring life jackets every day, and children should also bring life jackets for canoeing. I hope to see you at the recreation programme!

I hope to see you all next year! We will try to make next year an even better experience! See more
The weather should stay dry for tonight, so I hope to see you all at our evening activity! Also, please make sure you look through the lost and found when you pick up your children this afternoon!
Hi everyone, tomorrow is the last day of camp. And we have a lot of fun planned for tomorrow! We will of course have our weekly tennis for the older kids and canoeing for the younger kids. We will also be going to the Georgeville historical museum. We will have a special lunch at McGowan, so parents, please bring $8.- for lunch. And we will be giving out awards to our campers!... We also have some games and swimming planned. In the evening from 6.00 to 7.30 we will have our last evening activity this summer. It’s a private road. Just stay to the left on the road (not overgrown driveways), and you will find us! In case of rain we will do this activity on Friday evening instead. We hope to see all of you tomorrow in our last super fun day for the summer! See more

Hi everyone, I have been checking the weather daily and even though it is supposed to rain during the day tomorrow, the evening and night is supposed to be dry. So I’m happy to say the camp out will be happening! Here is a list of stuff to pack for your kids: Tent (friends can bunk together, if arranged beforehand) Sleeping bag + pillow... Air mattress or sleeping cot Flashlight Long pants and sweater (just in case) Closed toe shoes Bathing suit (there is a beautiful beach!) Towel Pyjamas Extra pair of clothes Water bottle Bug spray (optional) Small games like cards or books (optional) (NO ELECTRONICS!) Musical instruments (optional) We will only be doing hotdogs and marshmellows, so make sure your child has a light supper before hand. We will also not be doing breakfast, so if you want your child to bring snacks that is fine. Again it starts at 6.30. Younger kids are welcome to hang out by the campfire and roast hotdogs and marshmellows from 6.30 to 7.30. While parents are waiting to pick up their younger kids they are welcome to enjoy a glass of wine at my cabin. The camp out is at anthemis bay. The driveway for anthemis bay is right next to the entrance of chemin birch bay on chemin de Georgeville. I will hang lots of balloons by the entrance to the driveway.
