#hatsforhope .....a cause so important to our family as our son is one of those 27 Canadians a day that heard those words just over 3 years ago....today at 21 years old he is an amazing man ( cant call him our baby boy anymore LOL) full of life, ambition and a mission of raising awareness in our communities so no one feels alone on their journey he more than accomplished that with #georgianbaybraintumourwalk this year for the first time our communities of Georgian Bay ca...me together with a volunteer committee and a community of support for our cause Today we wear our hat proudly to continue raising awareness today and everyday @braintumourfdn #hatsforhope #endbraintumours

Thinking back to last year in London where we met so many wonderful inspirational friends We knew from that weekend that we wanted to be apart of making a difference and raising awareness of brain tumours. Together we started the first #georgianbaybraintumourwalk which although did not happen has brought together so many people in our surrounding communities so they no longer feel alone on their journey Wether you are a survivor, a Mama bear, a papa bear, sibling,... grandparent, aunt uncle cousin friend or caregiver, it is nice to have someone to talk to ; someone you can cry to ( Nes thank you for so many early morning talks) that can relate to how you feel. We are thankful for each and every one you we have met on Brandon's journey.....3 years ago this Thanksgiving we brought him home after his surgery Gives new meaning to every day being thankful for having us remain #thedouglasfamilyfive

Tomorrow will be 3 years ago that Brandon heard the words that 27 Canadians a day will hear " you have a brain tumour" A week before his 18th birthday.... Let's keep on raising awareness in our communities so no one feels alone on their journey Brandon just recently was there for someone who heard those words........ I missed getting our hats last year but this year I will wear one proudly!!
