The landscape still looks a lot like winter, but the big lake is now open, snows will come and go, the sun will shine, the wind will blow, and eventually there will be buds and birds everywhere. Spring 2021
My sweet daughter in law and little #3
The Christmas Star ... The news was abuzz about a phenomenon that happens once every 800 years: two planets aligning, making them the brightest light in the sky. While I was imagining an AMAZING star shining so brightly that the entire world couldn’t possibly miss it, what I saw was two planets that seemed close enough to kiss. On a night that was clearing cloud, it was a happy bonus to see Saturn and Jupiter in this way. Yet I felt disappointed that it lacked the Christ...mas Star, Guiding Light vision I’d created in my head. After a lot of pondering, I wondered about the Christmas star of long ago. The shepherds didn’t see it. They saw Angelsone speaking, others singing! Yet the shepherds were moved to pursue what they’d been told. No one else saw or heard the angels message. Then there’s the wisemen. Astronomers. They spent their lives studying the skies. They were watching this planetary ‘coming together’ and wondered what it might mean. In their studies, Saturn and Jupiter had not done this before! So they decided to check it out. Holy scripture tells us the rest of the world lay sleeping. Living our daily lives. Blissfully unaware that I AM had come among us. I’m left wondering about my disappointment with the every-day-ness of that planetary alignment. Except for being the most noticeable star in the evening sky, I am reminded that this is exactly the way I AM chooses to reveal Himself. Nothing big and flashy. Unnoticed, unless we’ve learned to keep watch. Not with signs and wonders, but through a tiny babe. Born in a barn. His only witnesses lowly shepherds and farm animals. Dec 22 2020 See more
A different kind of celebration this year due to the covid-19 pandemic. Still, we remember.
Praying God’s richest blessings will be gifted to each and every one of you. 2020 has definitely been challenging, but it’s also given us the opportunity to discover exactly what is important to us in this life, and for whom and what we are most thankful. Happy New Year.
