Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) usage among older adults has been increasing as technology costs decline and usability improves. As COVID19 continues to disrupt our daily lives and forces more social distance and isolation, ICT provides an alternative to high risk one-on-one contact with older adults who may be at heightened risk for complications from the disease. Caregivers may wish to consider video-based conferencing technologies such as Skype, FaceTime, Teams, etc. as a means to stay in close contact with their older family members without imposing added risks, until this pandemic is contained and abates.

Last week's meeting of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics in Taiwan marked a great advance for Gerontechnology. Several fine symposia and a keynote speech by IAGG past-President Heung Bong Cha on Gerontechnology's potential impact on the Korean healthcare system brought home the increasing importance of Gerontechnology worldwide.

President Kearns had the honor of introducing past-president Cha and co-moderated the session with Prof. Presort Assantachai of Thailand.
