The star-like track of the Virginia Opossum. It has stepped the hind foot into the print of the front foot. We see 4 long toes from from foot, the heel of the hind foot, and the ‘thumbs’ of both feet overlap. Coming soon Tracking Stories activity from Get Out Kids’ Club!

Happy Bird Birthday..(a little late)..better late than never...all birds in the avian world have a birthday once a year just like us. For them JANUARY 1 is bird birthday..so Happy BIRTHDAY BIRDS. this is really important in the bird banding world to help us age birds in the spring season. Obviously no warblers are actually born in January 1 ..it is way to cold for them..but this is a way that all birds born this past season will be in thier second year of life so in the spring we can age them as SY (second year) and ASY (after second year) so we can identify which birds were hatch the previous season and which birds would be considered adult birds. So all the birds you see today just had a birthday...and would love you to sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to them....yayay
