I am offering 2 more virtual Babysitting classes. There will be an 11:30a.m. or a 1:00pm class June 22 to 26. Cost is $60.00. Manual is mailed out. Classes are held on Zoom. These are going exceptionally well. I am very pleased with the interaction and what the Babysitters are learning. Please register at getfirstaidtrained.ca No payment is required at time of registration.
There is just something about a good cup of coffee and the smell of new manuals in the morning!!! As much as I love digital books, it does not compare to the real thing!
With the success of my first Virtual Babysitting course, I have decided to run two more classes of 8 students! I will be running them June 8-12. Morning class is 11:30 am - 12:30 pm daily and afternoon class is 1:00 - 2:00 pm daily. I have set up the zoom meetings and online registration through my website. I was given a choice to either offer an electronic Babysitting Manual or a physical one, I have decided to mail out the manuals as per the usual course. I feel that t...his will be best for my students. Cost is $60.00/child. This can be paid a variety of ways. Books will be mailed out the Monday before the course. Please visit https://getfirstaidtrained.ca for online registrations!
I looking for 5 11-15 year olds for an online babysitters course. I have been given approval from the Canadian Red Cross to hold the course. The course would involve five 1 hour sessions over zoom or google hangout with activities to complete afterward. Cost is still $60. Books would be delivered (or mailed for out of town). Should this be successful. I will be holding more sessions. I know a lot of kids might be helping out with their siblings or spending more time at home alone, I would like to give them the opportunity to learn some additional skills.
WSIB has come out with an official statement. For more information, here is the link. https://www.wsib.ca//health-and/training/first-aid-program
I cant wait until we can all be together again!
If you are wondering how you can support your first aid learning while social distancing....the answer is the Red Cross first aid App! Go into your app store and search red cross first aid, it is a free app with learning, videos and what to do in emergencies. Take a break from the news and put your time to good use!
It comes as no surprise that my First Aid Courses have come to a halt. This will protect you and your family as well as mine. During this time, many of you might be concerned that your current certificates will expire, but rest assured, the Canadian Red Cross has been working hard to ensure that you will not be effected by the postponement of my courses. Here is what has been sent to me by the Canadian Red Cross:... "Canadian Red Cross is aware that in person course cancellations due to COVID-19 precautionary measures and closures and will have an impact on those requiring to maintain their certifications. Red Cross has worked with workplace health and safety regulators to offer support to those who have certifications that will expire in the next months. All Red Cross first aid certifications (which would have expired March through June 30, 2020) will be considered valid 90-days beyond their expiry date. These certifications will also be accepted for those taking recertification courses when in-person training resumes." I hope that when we have gotten through these tough times, you will be able to find time to sign up your employees and yourself. I will add additional courses and will conduct private courses as needed and required, focusing on essential services. if you need more information, please feel free to contact me. with all this social distancing, I am sure I will be longing to talk shop with you! Stay safe my friends! We can do this!
I have been to many emergency scenes for heart attacks. Remember EVERY heart attack is different. Be aware that women and diabetics do feel different symptoms, but many men experience the softer signs before the obvious signs surface. If in doubt, get it checked out.
Sorry for the last minute notice. February has creeped right up on me! I have 15 spots available. Feel free to message, text, email me your childs Name. There will be a quick registration form to be filled out the morning of the course. I will be there at 8:00 for registrations.
It has been a year of many ups and downs. I have had health issues, a busy family life with many changes, but I am still standing. I cannot thank everyone enough for supporting my business. Every time I teach a course and hear how much everyone enjoyed it, it makes all the hurdles worth it! I love hearing how my course helps people feel more comfortable with emergencies. I hope this next year is better then the last!
Reasons to keep an eye on your infections even after your done your antibiotics...because they can always return. Signs of a serious infection are: Redness that spreads... Swelling Warmth Fever Pain/tenderness Nausea/vomiting I have never known the hospital staff so well. I was considered a regular this summer. I am now post 5 days of IV antibiotics and one week of oral, and Im finally on the mend. I hope that everyones fall is going a little better then mine :)
Sorry for taking a bit more time to get back to everyone. Summer time is usually filled with kids, family and fun. Unfortunately, mine has had a few first aid situations. Brody got 6 stitches, Sophias big toenail is about to fall off and I now have an infection and am on IV antibiotics. So if things happen in 3s, we should be good now! Happy summer everyone. If you need training and my schedule doesnt work, I have a few people that need different courses and maybe we can work in an extra date! Happy summer!!
Finally...my summer SFA BLS (formally SFA HCP CPR) classes have been scheduled. For any students requiring the Health Care Provider level of CPR for post secondary school, this is the course you need. If you only have to renew your CPR (at this level), then you will have to attend the first day of the training. Here are the dates! July 9 & 10... Aug 8 & 9 Location will be announced closer to the date. Ammie
With summer vacation approaching I have found a spot to fit in the Canadian Red Cross Stay Safe program for students aged 9-13. The course will be held Sunday May 5th at the Masonic Hall (45 Van Horne Ave, Dryden). Cost is $45/student and pizza and a juice box will be supplied. you can pack additional snacks. Unfortunately, I will only have 15 spots open. To hold a spot, please text or email as I will be teaching all week. 807-220-4446 or [email protected]
I think every AED station should be like this.
Here is my adjusted course schedule. I will be adding Standard First Aid with BLS CPR (formally called Heath Care Provider) to this soon. For those who need it for College or University courses, please feel free to contact me.
I have set my Dryden dates for the Babysitter Course. It is one day or the other. Both are on School PD Days.
