Today is #WorldToiletDay. On this day, we'd like to call attention to bathroom access for people living with #IBD. This is an issue that affects all with #IBD, and unfortunately, some businesses don't allow washroom access. bit.ly/35IIqtm.
Calling all young adults aged 18 30 living with #IBD! We will be hosting a Young Adult Summit supported by the LeGresley Family Foundation. Participants will learn about various topics related to IBD, connect with others living with IBD . bit.ly/2TSBLGg.
#TBT to hanging out with friends (virtually) at #CampGot2Go . Although Camp Got2Go may have looked a bit different this year, the fun never stopped ! #MakeItStopForLife .
There are really no two ways about it. You cannot pick and choose when to love and support your loved ones. That isn’t how LOVE works. Friends. Family. Signific...ant others. The people in your life deserve your support during every stage of theirs. And YOU deserve love and support during every stage of YOUR life from the people who are in yours. Too often when people find themselves faced with a chronic illness they will see people leaving their lives. You’re too needy. It’s not fun anymore. Can’t you just get better already? You never come out. Why even invite you? You’re just ALWAYS sick. These things have ALL been said to me, and I suspect many people have heard these types of statements as well. We didn’t choose to be sick, and it gets to us too! Always missing out, always feeling awful. Always scared or lonely or feeling pain. I am grateful - infinitely grateful - for the life my ostomy has given back to me, but if someone in my life can’t accept that I have one? Or makes fun of it? Bye!!!! So please realize that having an invisible illness or a chronic condition is an up and down sort of ride. There are good days and bad days (just like in ANY relationship!!!!) and if you love us, reeeeeally love us, you’ll stick around for it all. You cannot have us at our best when you refuse to stand by us at our worst. It’s really that simple. - Nikki
