Symptoms of pain are unfortunately common among people with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. A 2018 study found up to 70% experience symptoms of pain duri...ng a flare and between 20 & 50% experience ongoing pain during periods of remission. Through a research grant from Crohn's and Colitis Canada, Dr. Stephen Vanner and his team at Queen's University are testing new ways to deliver opioid drugs strategically. The goal is to alleviate abdominal pain in people with IBD while minimizing harmful side effects: bit.ly/3bY6z2E.
