KOOTENAY SKAHA CIRCUIT If anyone can still remember, in the seventies, there was a circuit at the end of August through to the Labour Day weekend that started with the Cranbrook & District Kennel Club, moved to the West Kootenay Kennel Club a day off for travel and then to the Kamloops & District Kennel Club. This continued from 1975 to 1983. Well, the circuit has again been resurrected and now starts in Cranbrook on August 26-28, West Kootenay August 29-Spetember 1, a day ...of travel to Skaha Kennel Club September 3-6/21. What a wonderful opportunity to take a holiday in Southern BC. A paradise for golfing, fishing, hiking or only plain relaxing in the mountains or at your favorite lakes, that are still very warm at this time of year. Enjoy the sunshine and spectacular scenery of this wonderful part of the Province. Fun in the Sun. Great way to end your summer. Best of all, you have the opportunity to enter at least 11-12 All Breed Dog Shows (when approved), many Limited Breed Shows and Specialty Breed Shows. There will also be many Obedience and Rally Trials to help ease the boredom. What a wonderful way of finishing championships and performance titles all in one adventuresome holiday. Hopefully, by the end of August, the Provincial regulations for Covid will be reduced if not lifted for outdoor sport participation with almost all people in Canada being vaccinated by this time. The three Clubs are optimistic that this will all unfold, and the Kootenay Skaha Circuit can proceed with their plans and make this a success for all involved. Come and enjoy some of the best part of beautiful BC and enjoy it with your dogs at these great shows and trials. An adventure you will never forget, the KOOTENAY SKAHA CIRCUIT. See more

I think this program gives many of us an opportunity to continue working towards goals and objectives. Something positive in these times of restrictions. If it is well received CKC, may see fit to implement something similar!

I’m an intensive care specialist in a small city. Coronavirus isn’t just like the flu, but it’s only really very dangerous to the elderly or the already unwell.... Quite a lot of people in their 80s will die, but most of the rest of us will probably be okay. If you’re in your 70s and you get Coronavirus, you’ve got a really good chance of survival. If I’ve got a bed for you. If you’re in your 60s and you have a heart attack, you’ve got a really good chance of survival. If I’ve got a bed for you. If you’re in your 50s and need bowel cancer surgery, you’ve got a really good chance of survival. If I’ve got a bed for you. If you’re in your 40s and have a bad car accident, you’ve got a really good chance of survival. If I’ve got a bed for you. If you’re in your 30s and have terrible pre-eclampsia as a complication of pregnancy, you’ve got a really good chance of survival. If I’ve got a bed for you. If you’re in your 20s and have a bad reaction to a party drug, you’ve got a really good chance of survival. If I’ve got a bed for you. I have 7 beds equipped with life support machines. We have a plan to increase to about 25. Getting more isn’t a matter or more equipment or more money, that bit is easy. There are not enough skilled staff, even if we all work double shifts every day for six months (and we probably will). If 50% of my city gets infected, that’s 75,000 people. If 5% of them need life support (which is the estimate), that’s 3750 people. For 25 beds. And then I might not have a bed for you. So it’s up to you to flatten the curve. Wash your hands. Stay home.
