New flash : Your follower count isn’t the end all, be all. Yes, growth is definitely important and something you should measure, but your engagement rate speaks to so much more. It allows you to see who’s *actually* interacting with your content. Let’s take a few steps back. Engagements are the # of times someone interacts with your content or post (Note: what is deemed as an ‘engagement’ will vary depending on the social media platform). Your Engagement Rate ...is a % that measures the level of engagement that a post receives from an audience. Even though how it’s calculated is still under debate, we look at: (# of engagements’s) by followers 100 This metric allows you to see how many of your followers are actually engaging with your content. One of the projects we worked on this year was Skinwork a striking exposition of the female form with the ambition of raising awareness for skin cancer prevention. Over the course of 6 months, along with a 5-person dream team we: Organized a 2-day photoshoot shot by Bettina Bogar to capture 60 Canadian women with a story to tell around the cause... Curated a 2-week exhibition at Artscape Youngplace featuring over 90 pieces Hosted a launch event on International Women’s Day which was attended by over 200+ people. The event included an panel discussion on skin health and an abundance of generously sponsored food + drink. As an entirely volunteer- and sponsorship-based project, it was incredible to see the support we received from the community.
