Hi everybody! Yesterday I went on my longest paddle yet on a SUP, and had a blast! I got to use all the tips from Lina Augaitis to make my paddle stroke faster and more efficient. It's definitely a full body workout when using proper paddling techniques!! In early July I was so grateful to be able to take an advanced SUP workshop from Lina, right here on Kootenay Lake!! I love learning, and what better way to learn than from a Pro SUP athlete, a PE teacher, and an all around ...super inspiring woman!! Thank you again Lina :) Here is an excellent article about Lina, who by the way was the gold medal winner of the sprint race at the 2016 SUP and Paddleboard World Champs in Fiji, and was the first person to SUP the 750km from Whitehorse to Dawson City on the Yukon River! It was so much fun to teach these three wonderful ladies how to SUP! Only two women had tried it before, and all three of these yoga teachers are naturals at balancing on a paddle board. They also enjoyed seeing the cave and pictographs on Kootenay Lake across from Nelson! Another first-time paddle boarder got hooked on it today :)

The boards are loaded and ready for back-to-back lessons today on Box Lake! I have limited availability left for lessons and rentals: today (Sunday) at either 3:30 or 6:30 pm, or Monday afternoon, or anytime on Wednesday...and that's it for this season! A one-hour lesson includes a two hour rental, for only $45 each for locals or $60 for visitors. Give me a call if you're interested :)
