Hi All, A note here to ask for some, I have been noticing for a few weeks, with today being the worst, a lot of cigarette butts VERY close to the main entrance and dressing room exit doors. Please take notice of the law, which is depicted on the sign and help us out by moving away from the doors. Not only does this bring a high potential for the smells to enter the building, but a lot butts are coming in on the bottoms of gear bags and footwear, which is something we don't w...ant to have visitors to our building seeing around here. My only real course of action to this is to ask for some monitoring from the local detachment which should be needless for the sake of moving around the corner. Thank-you, Shane Rogers

Yesterday the Newport rink was rocking when the West Hants Middle School Players hosted Bridgetown for a Female Hockey Festival. That’s once a year goaltender... Claire Naugler showing rink manager, Shane Rogers, how to move. There were a lot of firsts on the ice including two first goals, one for Emily Cossaboom who plays with our Bantam C2 team. Bridgetown even brought in a ringer from Australia who was only on ice twice in her life! A THANK YOU to Mr Davies and all Involved in this day for Bringing the game of Hockey to these young women. These will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am to 11am, I do allow strollers for these times as long as wheels are cleaned and it is used properly. Helmets are Mandatory! Public Skating will begin on Sunday October 13, from 4pm to 4:40pm. I do NOT allow strollers at this. This will be Free to the public this season. Helmets are Mandatory!

Hi all, Quite a Weekend, First of I want to thank all our NSP Lineman and those from other provinces!! For the rink here, we lost power at 2pm on Saturday and regained yesterday evening, We made the decision to go through a procedure and as of right now we will be looking at opening to regular scheduled rentals starting at 3pm on Thursday, Sept 12th. As you come in you will see the damage it took and how close we were to the 2 week rebuild process. We still have preparation... and work to do it so I will put another update on here tomorrow. A huge Thank-you from me to Robbie and Tyler for staying "ON CALL" and heading right over to help with the procedure. Big Thank-you to the commission members for staying involved along the way with us. Please Note- there will NOT be a Timekeepers session tonight, I will send a new date in the coming days. ATTENTION - TIMEKEEPERS! Hi all, Anyone wanting to Learn the time clock and music, Nolan MacPherson will be joining me this coming Tuesday, Sept 10 for 2 sessions at 7pm and at 7:45pm. Nolan has been running the clock for many teams the past couple of years and is probably more knowledgeable on it than myself and the employees. With camps going on, we won't be able to play music, but we will go over it- PLEASE NOTE; the GFL Centre will NOT be supplying music chords at will this season, we were into a few hundred dollars last season from it going missing, finding them broke under chair legs, etc. you can see what is needed and please purchase your own. Hi all, Hope all the users enjoyed the first Ice of the season. As we get going here with ice times and Minor Hockey and the starting soon, we still have a few fixups to do to complete our summer works maintenance, just a reminder to please keep dressing rooms monitored and watch the ones that aren't on the ice, we need your help to ensure our community facility stay a clean and healthy environment.
