IRCC RELEASED NEW INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS PROGRAM On November 5, 2020, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) released new instructions for officers who are managing the process in the Parents and Grandparents Program. IRCC will issue more invitations to apply than the annual cap since not all invited will submit the full application. A maximum of 10,000 sponsorship applications will be accepted. Sponsors will have 60 days once they receive an invitation to apply letter to submit their sponsorship application and permanent residence application package. New Brunswick again updated the Skilled Worker Stream Guide On November 4, 2020, the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) released an updated official guide to the Skilled Worker Stream. The new guide includes some minor updates. TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS REMAIN IN FORCE UNTIL NOVEMBER 30 On October 30, 2020, the Federal government extended the policy of travel restrictions to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 until November 30, 2020. At the moment, most foreign nationals cannot travel to Canada. Nevertheless, Canada keeps allowing the entrance of several categories of exempt travellers such as family members of Canadians and permanent residents, international students, whose educational institutions have a... COVID readiness plan and some foreign workers, authorized to work, and immigrants who received approval to make a landing in Canada. Visitors and tourists are not allowed to come to Canada. Travel restrictions were introduced on March 18 and since then, Canada extends them every month. Saskatchewan updated application processing times in the SINP On October 30, 2020, Saskatchewan has updated the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) processing times. The new data is based on average times from July 1 to September 30, 2020. In the International Skilled Worker category, the processing time in the Employment Offer stream is 3 weeks, and 35 weeks for both the Occupation In-Demand and the Express Entry streams. In the Saskatchewan Experience category, t...he processing time in the Existing Work Permit Stream and the International Students Stream is 2 weeks; in the Health Professionals Stream, it is 4 weeks. As for the Hospitality Workers stream, the processing time is 2 weeks, and the Truck Drivers are processed in only 1 week. In the Entrepreneur and Farm category, the processing time for the Entrepreneurs Nominations is 17 weeks. There was not enough data to estimate processing times for Farmers Stream. The Job Approval Process, the authorization for an employer to hire a foreign worker through the SINP, takes 8 weeks.
