John Kasardo of PA had a good night on stand connecting on an old brute that had avoided us for years. This old boar came in about 1/2hr before dark following a sow. Congrats John on a bear of a lifetime.

True Alberta giant!

With only 2 hunters in camp this week we felt it was a good time for guide Seth Duncan to get some nights on stand. While this was our first time ever letting a guide hunt, Seth has spent approx 30 nights sitting his own baits over several years waiting for a true giant and never shot one bear. Last night it finally came together as this big old boar came in following a sow. Seth made no mistake with his muzzle loader and when the smoke cleared, there was a giant laid to rest. Seth runs his own outfit and has guided all over western Canada for everything from black bear and cougar to dall sheep, moose and caribou. There is something special about finally being the one behind the trigger. Congrats Seth on a well deserved bear.

Sometimes you just need to stop and breathe it in....and try not to inhale too many mosquitos.

Anthony Dougherty with bear#2 on night #2. I wish I could say this is easy, but 2 bears of this magnitude on back to back nights is a very rare thing. Once again 1 well placed arrow and a quick clean kill made for an easy recovery. When you target mature boars only, this is the result.
