Help us Light up the Grind in Summerland Lower Town. $10.00 per foot of light!

Hello Family and Friends Like so many events, the Summerland Festival of Lights had to take a break this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. However, all of us ...with the Giants Head Grind and Summerland Rotary want to keep the festival’s spirit alive by bringing some light to this holiday season. While our future goal is to light up all of Giants Head Mountain and along the Grind Route, we are starting this year in lower town and are lighting the route that starts the event, through Rotary Park and at Rotary Pier. For Just $10.00 per foot, you can help us Light Up the Grind At Rotary Park Please find below the link to share for the fundraising for the "Light up the Grind" winter initiative. As you will see you can donate online or mail in a cheque and all donations will receive a tax receipt. If there are business donations that require an invoice, let me know and I can arrange for that as well. It is so hard to believe that it is Friday of the May long weekend and I am not at the Summerland Waterfront Resort and Spa, getting ready to have all of you come to registration night. It is the first time in 7 years and I can't tell you how much I miss seeing every single person, reminiscing about Chris, watching all of your babies get bigger and bigger and meeting the new ones that have arrived this year. On a happy note, they have officially completed all of the work on G...iants Head Mountain and it is looking amazing...thank you to the District of Summerland, Summerland Rotary, Bench Design, Cabin and every one of the many sponsors, supporters, and racers for all you have done to make this revitalized Giants Head Mountain Park a reality. I also wanted to thank the many people that have still made donations this year, altered their registration to a donation, or moved their registration to next year. Covid-19 will be a memory at some point but not so Cancer. So thank you again for staying involved and continuing to make contributions. 2021 can't come soon enough for many reasons and we all look forward to the time when things are even a modicum of normal. Giants Head Grind - Christopher Walker Memorial Event will be back next year and it will be even better as we will all so appreciate being back together again. We will miss seeing all of you at what should be the 7th annual Giants Head Grind - Christopher Walker Memorial Race, but we doing the right thing and following Dr Bonnie Henry is much more important. The wayfinding signage was installed today and we are so grateful to the District of Summerland, Bench, Cabin, West Canadian and all of YOU that have made this dream a reality.
