--------------- CLOSED DOOR POLICY IN EFFECT---------------- In light of the current outbreak of Coronavirus COVID-19 and the likely increase in the number of cases, we would like to ask that you refrain from coming into our hospital to reduce speed and extent of the spread of the infection. We will be open for appointments, but would ask that owners do not call to book in routine appointments to allow sick pets to be seen as a priority. ... Clients (owners) will no longer be allowed to enter the hospital When arriving for appointment please wait outside, we will call you to take a medical history and then we will admit your pet for examination and discuss the treatment with you over the telephone. Please bring a CELLPHONE with you. Hand sanitizer should be used at all times. Please call or email to order food/medication during regular business hours. When ready we will call you and bring it out to parking lot. Our goal is to have a 2 metre distancing from our clients at all times. Payment will be taken over phone via credit card or e- transfer. If you or a family member is exhibiting signs of coronavirus we ask that you stay at home and arrange to have a friend or family member (who has not been in direct contact with you to bring your pet in). We realise this is inconvenient but keeping all of us safe & healthy is our priority.

Fun Fact Friday Ever noticed that strange look your cat sometimes has on his face as he sniffs the air? No, he’s not sneering at you, but he is up to something. Through a controlled method of breathing known as ‘taste-scenting’ your cat uses an organ located between the roof of the mouth and the nose’s septum to taste the scent of another cat in the air.

October is National Animal Safety & Protection Month! Despite our best efforts, accidents do happen. This month, prepare your pet for the unexpected. Read on to discover several tips that can help you and your pet in case of an emergency. 5 ways you can protect your pet this October: 1. Have a first aid kit handy in your house and/or car: From cuts and scrapes to bee stings, pets need first aid attention too! Consider purchasing a pet first aid kit or making a DIY kit with dr...ug store supplies to keep at home or in your car. Smaller, on-the-go kits for your outdoor adventures are also a great idea! 2. Keep your pet’s microchip records up-to-date: Log in to check that your information is current on your BC Pet Registry account and check that your pet’s veterinary clinic also has the correct information on file. Having up-to-date contact information will ensure you can be contacted if a lost pet is found! 3. Add an emergency evacuation sticker to your door: No matter what kind of dwelling you live in, an "in case of emergency" sticker on your front door communicates that there may be pets in your house. In case of a fire or other disaster, neighbours and emergency responders will know what pets to look for. 4. Pack an emergency kit with pets in mind: Whether there is an earthquake, or another situation that causes you to have to evacuate your home quickly, an emergency kit will ensure you have the necessary pet food, medication, and equipment your pet needs to get by. Learn more about what you should include in your kit. 5. Get your shine on: Fall is here and the days are getting darker. Don’t let the dreary weather bring you down! Reflective gear and lights for your pets makes them far more visible to cars. Walk, run, and exercise with your pet without worry.
