Christmas is in full swing at our home!!

A little late in posting but a huge thank you to Larry Simmons for spoiling our residents last week with an awesome tasting ice cream cake from Frosty Queen!! Incredibly sweet of him to drop it off for our gang to enjoy!! Thank you Larry!!

Thanks so much to Jeannette King for dropping off these headbands for our staff today!! Our ears and necks thank the group who made these so much!!! Its caring people like you who really make our jobs just a little bit easier and the wonderful designs are fun to wear!!

Thank you so much John and Kathleen MacDonald of Belgrave for the donation of a HUGE turkey for our Thanksgiving Dinner Celebration. John is the grandson of our very first and longest resident Betty MacDonald. She lived at Gilbert Hall for 13 years and is always fondly remembered. A special Thanksgiving prayer will be sent to the MacDonald family along with all of our extended families as we are separated from them this season.

To support the Blood Donors Clinic is something we should always do...but Marah is a special girl at Gilbert Hall. Her mom, LeeAnne is one our original staff, and while she doesn’t work with us anymore, she continues to visit and drop off goodies for our residents. A great acknowledgement to Erica Townsend! I know the staff at Gilbert Hall were in huge appreciation of her masks when the pandemic first happened and everyone was grasping for masks! She jumped right in and made sure everyone had! It’s nice to see that she has been recognized for her efforts!! #inittogether #covidsucks

Happy 94th birthday to our awesome Janice Marks, who celebrated on the weekend with an amazing meal and cake provided by her family for all of the residents and staff! Thank Marks clan, there was enough for an army!! Janice loved being spoiled, so did we!!

Thank you to the MacDonald Family for the lovely dinner tonight in memory of their Mom, Betty. Betty was the matriarch of my home for many, many years and there are not many days that she does not cross my mind. I will always miss her her love, concern and council to me. This being one of her go to dinners for a bunch truly made me feel like she was here in spirit at our dinner table...I love you Bebe, always in my heart! Wanda
