Finally finished the brick work on the ‘re-saw / storage shed. I built the shed a couple years ago. Last year i started the brick work late in the season and the cold and the snow came early. So the facade was 2/3 complete...until now! Thanks fully we had a bit of warm spell this week. Proved to be a great time for home maintenance chores (chimney sweeping/cleaning gutters/moving firewood...etc.) to include #masonry. #custommade #customguitarbuilding #customguitars #luthier #workshop #resaw #woodworking

Well, after 10 months of soaking up the sun in Costa Rica’s Gold Coast we’ve made the trip home to Canada. Seems strange leaving CR as winter is about to set in, but 2020 has been a bit of a strange year. And COVID kept pushing our return date to the right. I’m super stoked about getting back in the workshop. We added a custom CNC machine and an laser engraver to the shop but only had enough time to install them and get the electrician to wire them up before heading south.... At long last I sit here in the shop with all the ‘great ideas’ running through my head. While I was away my memories faded and I forgot how much of a mess I made before leaving. First order of business, find the floor. OK, before that I’ll have a scotch, courtesy of Benoit M, MJ’s amazing cousin. Merci mon ami! For now I’ll pour myself a tall one and enjoy the scent of all the exotic woods and think about all the #manglitter (sawdust, of course!) to come. Bach to the beaches!!! Sorry if the glare hurts your eyes, but the photo on the left was taken the day before Costa Rica closed the beaches. My wife MJ and I took a water taxi across the estuary to Casitas, and I took a run up to the bay past Playa Grande. It was quiet, secluded, and the last day before COVID took away our access to our lovely beaches! The picture on the right was the fam jam swimming in the Pacific Ocean together this afternoon for the first time in almos...t 3 months! Wow, how great it is for the human spirit to get back in the water. And we met us with a great group of teachers from our son’s school #tideacademy - super fun to meet up with Sydney, Evan, Rebecca And J’aime. Anyway, for any folks wondering why we’ve taken a hiatus posting guitar pics...it’s ‘cause we decided to stay in Costa Rica! We compared the incidences of COVID at home and here, in CR, and for now the best bet is for us to hunker down! Not sure what it means for timelines, but for now taking care of our family is Priority #1. I’m confident most folks will understand.
