One of the biggest problems is corrosion on the mating surfaces. If not cleaned properly the wheel assembly can come loose even if torqued.... Replaced another flex plate in a 2014 dodge caravan. On everyone of these that we have done, caravans and journeys with a 3.6l. We observed rust in the fractures. Seems like the steel used in these plates are the problem.

Customer complaint for a transmission "stuck in limp mode". We road tested the vehicle and quickly discovered it was un able to get to 40km/hr. Data stream pids showed very little engine vacuum, low mass air flow readings, rich o2 sensor readings and lean catalyst monitoring readings.... From there we suspected a clogged catalyst. To confirm we used a mechanical gauge pre-cat. At idle it should read 0 psi and snap throttle should be around 1.5psi. This one easily hits 15psi We installed a new catalyst and this customer was back on the road. Verify the complaint Diagnose the problem Repair the component

Throw back Thursday to when I had to rebuild a data network and some modules on a severely damaged BMW. The customer was an insurance company that suspected fraud. It was brought to 7 other shops including 3 dealers that would not touch it. Multiple harnesses cut, missing or destroyed modules. Major interior and exterior damage. They needed to retrieve its GPS data and the original owners texts and emails which were stored in the vehicle. Truth be told we didn't want it either. However they talked us into it. Not only did I get the network back up. I found the original reason for the no start condition that caused the original owner to commit the fraud in the first place. He should have just brought it to us in the first place

So, this 300 came in with a host of issues... lights not working, ignition not shutting the vehicle off, electric shift not working etc, etc. Most of these systems are tied together by one module called a bcm. One of its jobs is to act as a hub between other modules. This module was thought to be the issue before I got it. This vehicle had a ton of communication codes for multiple other modules that could lead one to believe the bcm was an issue..... However. This is ...why we check our comm lines and read our diagrams. To properly diagnose the issue and not throw parts at a vehicle In this case a mouse had chewed through and shorted out multiple CAN bus lines essentially isolating multiple modules from the network. I repaired them and the car worked as it should. If you have a diagnostic problem that just can't seem to be fixed, come see us.

This customer came in with a vibration under acceleration. The u-joint caps were cracked and needle bearings were pounded into dust long ago. We got to it before there was a drive shaft failure. Another repair, another happy customer.

Transmission problems? We fix those too! This 4l60e trans out of an early model Yukon was having a binding issue in reverse and some noise in the rear planetary gear set. When we got it apart it, we found it was a wonder is was moving at all. Broken sun shell, stripped planets, every spacer and bushing worn out. It was impressive damage. We rebuilt it and we another vehicle back on the road.

Differential problems? We fix those too. We are your one stop mechanical shop! This ram had some extreme bearing noise. We replaced them all, setup the preload and backlash. Now the customer has a nice quiet rear differential.

Fixing an oil leak on a 2015 jeep. This engine has a heat exchanger on top of the oil filter housing. Prone to leak. Quite a common problem and commonly mis diagnosed as a rear main seal leak.

The tools that were needed to diagnose windshield wipers that wouldn't shut off:) The components that were checked in this circuit (which is relatively simple by today's standards) were : body control computer(bcm), power distribution center(tpim) wiper switch, wiper motor and all the wiring inbetween. It's all got to be checked properly because each component is very costly. There can be no guess work. Just diagnosis, repair and return to the customer.

Our procedures have changed. Our offices are closed to the public. We are asking customers to drop their keys in our key drop at the corner of the building and call in to let us know you have arrived. We then sanitize the keys and your vehicle as we get it. We bring the vehicle in and complete the work. When finished the customer is called and payments are made via credit card or email money transfer over the phone. All parts and supplies are sanitized as they enter the building. All techs are gloved and practice social distancing.

Flashing (programming) the engine controller and transmission controller on this 2018 ram 3500. Modern vehicle modules require a lot of knowledge when it comes to diagnostics and programming. Understanding the multiple data networks on the vehicle, their security protocols and sequence of steps to do things like this is very important. Clogged converter on this truck was causing a few drivability problems, like no acceleration over 60kms/hr. We diagnosed the problem, cut out the old converter and welded in a new one for the customer. Currently due to covid19, customer interaction is limited to the phone and social media. All vehicles are disinfected before we work on them. All payments are taken over the phone, the shop and tools are cleaned and disinfected daily.
