Are you looking to relocate to an area near a pristine lake for swimming, fishing and boating? Look no further than the Creston Valley with access to the magnificent Kootenay Lake. It is the largest lake in BC with a length of 104 km, it offers superb fishing for Kokanee salmon, trout and more, and sandy beaches for swimming. Most of the west shore of the lake can only be reached by boat and is protected from development by the Nature Conservancy of Canada and Provincial Parks. Launch your boat at Kuskanook Harbour at the south end of the lake and scoot across to discover the nicest sandy beaches and secluded coves.

TIPS FOR STAGING YOUR HOME When you are ready to sell your home and have it listed with your favourite Realtor, the next step is to make it ready for viewing or stage your home. While it sounds fairly easy to keep your home clean and uncluttered, it is actually quite tricky to get it just right. Your Realtor should have some insight on how to set up your home for viewing. There are also many websites and free courses available, or let a professional specializing in home stagi...ng help you. Here are some pointers: 1) Your house should be uncluttered but it should still exhibit signs of occupancy and feel like a home. For example a) in the entrance, it is ok to have some shoes on the bootrack but don't overflow into adjacent spaces. You can have a couple of coats on the hooks but don't pile them up. b) in the living room remove all the clutter from your coffee table but leave some decoration like a vase of flowers or a coffe table book. b) in the kitchen, find some shelf space for all your small appliances, like toasters, toaster ovens, kettles etc. but leave a couple of items like a plate of cookies on the counter and an african violet on the window sill. c) too many pictures on mantels and chests as well as knick knacks and beloved souvenirs throughout the house won't help. Remove most of them and just keep a few for decoration. You get the idea... 2) Your house should smell good! Smell is a powerful sense that evokes memories and can influence the mood. Don't cook cabbage the night before a showing or leave the dirty laundry out. If you are into baking, bake a bread in the morning - nothing smells better than home made bread. If it is summer, leave some fresh berries instead of cookies on the kitchen counter, complimented by that spray of flowers you just picked in the living room. 3) Leave the doors to the rooms open and all lights on. A bright home is more welcoming than a dark one, and open doors give the impression of space. Hope these tips will help. Good luck with your Sale!
