DIFFERENT WAYS TO USE PHOTOBOOKS OR ALBUMS 1. AS GIFTS - Photobooks or albums are a great idea for gifts to family members! Couples often create one for parents or grandparents. 2. AS GUESTBOOKS - Use your engagement photos to create a guestbook that your guests can sign & give words of wisdom at your wedding! ... 3. AS DECORATION FOR YOUR COFFEE TABLE - I don't know about you but when I see photobooks on a coffee table, I'm more inclined to pick em up and leaf through them! Keep them out so anyone can go through the album and relive the day all over again! Those are just a few simple ways you can use your photobooks or albums! How will you be using yours?!

3 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD PRINT YOUR PHOTOS Whether it's an album or prints, here are the reasons why I believe you should always print your photos! 1. So they don't get lost in a sea of 10000000 photos. It's no secret we live in a digital world, and it's easy to take 100 pictures of the same thing. With prints or albums, your photos won't get lost, you'll get to see your favourite moments all the time. ... 2. Transport back in time and relive the moments. I would spend hours going through old photos of us as kids, remembering how I felt on that Christmas morning, or the funny stories that went along with the Florida trip. On days when I really needed it, or just wanted to, it brought me back to the moments and back to the memories. 3. Leave something behind for future generations to come. Okay this one is great for albums. I love being able to see what my grandparents and parents were like at different stages of their lives that I wasn't alive yet to see. It's something that my children and their children and so on will get to see with these albums. So my point is this - no, I don't think you need to print every.single.picture you ever take, cause c'mon that's insane. But I do think it's worthwhile, when you have some real important favourites, to set those aside and print those to look back on when you need. Now hear me out, cause I think this is super important, and truthfully something that I want every one of my current, future, maybe not-even-my-own couples to know. You DO NOT need to have your day revolve around your photos, you need to have your photos revolve around your day. You DO NOT need to create uncomfortable, rushed faux moments while getting ready if that is not you. Instead, hang out with your guys or girls, do something to calm your nerves and enjoy spending time surrounded by these people you have chosen to stand with you. You DO NOT need to travel far for bridal portraits and take 23849308423 photos. I gave @caciecarrollphotography 10 minutes and a road and she worked her magic. You don't need hours upon hours, you just need a moment to be able to slow down and be together to soak in the magnitude of the day (cause trust me, there are a lot of dang emotions). You DO NOT need to worry about looking "perfect" for the camera. Instead, be in the moment, and your natural happiness will shine through. Don't even worry about where the photographer or videographer might be, trust they are capturing your moments for you. Instead, ENJOY your moments, the day will go fast. You DO NOT need to follow a formula. Seriously. You don't have to just follow what the "musts" are of a wedding day. Don't lose sight of what weddings are all about, marry your best friend, surround yourselves with love and happiness, and enjoy the friggen ride.

Jess + Cam's engagement story is one for the books and one of my favourite stories yet. On leap years, based on Irish legends, it's said that women are able to propose to men. So Jess knew she couldn't pass this year up. Well Cam was in Halifax for a work conference, so Jess hopped on a flight, arrived at her Airbnb in the morning and set off to drop off a bunch of packages for a scavenger hunt around the city. She got the concierge to drop off the first clue to Cam and he wa...s on his way around the city for this awesome surprise. The last clue brought Cam to Jess's Airbnb where, on February 29th, she proposed to Cam. Who says ladies can't do the proposing!?

Lately, I've gotten some really sweet messages when sending off client galleries and one common theme I can't get past is this... "They feel like us" For me, that is music to my ears. THAT is exactly what I am going for, photos that feel right, that showcase your love, in your way.... Not every shoot is the same. Not every couple is going to want to get piggy back rides and frolic around. And not every couple is going to want to get super up close and romantic. And that's completely fine. I don't believe your photos need to be the "classic" Instagram perfect photo, they just need to be authentic to your love. And trust me, I'm here for it.

There may be a chance I'm going to tell you "just one more" about 7 times before it's actually "just one more." Ya see, I always think it will be the last one, but then I see a spot or have a different idea and I just gotta follow through. Take it from these two. I said goodbye to Kailey + Andrew at their family cottage and was off on my way, until I saw this spot. I was only 5 minutes away and I had JUST left the cottage so I called Kailey + Andrew to come meet me there. Aft...er some uncertainty about where I was, a lack of cell phone signal and Andrew having to change back out of his comfy clothes, they found me. And boy oh boy let me tell ya, it was worth it.

The most common choice was different than I expected. This week, I asked my followers to help me out and choose 5 favourite images from a gallery of an assortment of weddings. I wanted to see what my audience was drawn, what resonated with them.... And the results? Were different than I expected. A lot of people seemed to be drawn to the same photos and chose the photos that gave off a more romantic vibe. And while I pride myself on the ability to capture laughter, candid and natural photos, I've come to realize the softer, romantic photos are just as good. So here's to adding more swoon-worthy, romantic, snuggly, lovey photos!
