Did you know? SOME OF OUR DONATIONS HAVE BEEN USED IN MOVIES, FILM AND TV SHOWS? At GBE we love to support great small business and local talent in and around the Edmonton area in numerous ways. From advertizing your business and or talent to supporting other groups with donations. Like Cherie Howard one of our amazing volunteers she is a very special local talent who has been giving her time and support to us for 7 years. Cherie is a makeup artist, costume designer, ha...ir artist and seamtress to name a few of her many talents. We donate needed items for her projects which is donated back to us to distribute to those in need. Making a huge impact on our communities is critical when in one of the worse pandemics to hit our time. Not to mention having donated items that have been in movies and such is pretty epic. We have good news! After a long hiatus we’re so pleased to share that today we were able to start delivering food to the schools we support! We’re following al...l of the Edmonton Public School Board health and safety guidelines and COVID-19 food handling/delivery protocols. It feels so good to be able to get healthy food, safely, to hungry students again! We’ve adapted our program and are providing schools with biweekly B’s Boxes filed with healthy snacks. All the snacks are individually packaged or with peels. We deliver fruit, dairy products, veggie snacks, and granola bars; all of these items will be made available to students in their classrooms, in keeping with EPSB policy. Our mission has always been to remove hunger as a barrier to students learning and we’ll continue to find the best, safest way to do that. Today was a good day.
