Give Us Your Lunch Money

I am sad and proud and filled with mixed emotions as we wind up our little sandwich initiative. It was only ever temporary and it served its purpose. Our friends at the The Other Bean Sandwich Shop, Chester's Cafe helped us get thousands of sandwiches and sweets out the door to Adsum for Women & Children to Bryony House, to the Brunswick Street Mission to Souls Harbour Bridgewater and to Souls Harbour Rescue Mission, NS and to St George's Round Church, Halifax, NS Soup Kitch...en on Saturdays . Aside from food we delivered board games and chocolates, art supplies and flowers but I'd like to think the biggest thing we delivered was hope and caring. Any one of us at any time could find ourselves hungry or homeless or lonely and when we smile or donate or make sandwiches or lend a hand it helps. This was the little idea that could. Every single one of us can make a difference in someone's day. Let the casualties of Covid19 not be in vain, ask yourself , "what can I do?" Thank you to all who contributed and to all who cared. Our friend Angus at Bonnymans' Wild Blueberries very generously donated a giant box of wild blueberriesto #giveusyourlunchmoney The clients at St George's Round Church, Halifax, NS were thrilled to receive these delicious muffins with their sandwiches. Thanks to our team at Julien's Bakery for the yummy treats. This was our 11'th drop off here on a Saturday which means 1100 sandwiches and 1100 treats. This is Cheryl, Cheryl is the chef at Souls Harbour Bridgewater. We had a couple of very generous donations and asked our friends at Souls Harbour what was something they 'wished' for but couldn't afford.
