Dear Society Supporter, The year 2020 has been a significant challenge for all Canadians. While we all want to put this COVID-19 pandemic behind us and look forward to a better 2021, the need for innovative research into the treatment and cure for Glaucoma has never been greater. As the year draws to a close, research projects that the Society funded are well under way and we are already receiving proposals for research planned in 2021! This would not be possible without your... generous support. As President of the Glaucoma Research Society of Canada, I want to take this opportunity to personally say "Thank You" for your past contributions. Together we can stop Glaucoma, the silent thief, from stealing the vision of so many Canadians. If you are considering donating to our yearend holiday fundraising drive, now is the best time to make a contribution. If you donate before December 31, 2020 you will receive a tax credit of approximately 50% of your donation on your 2020 return. You can gain even greater tax benefits by gifting publicly traded stocks to the Society. You would receive a tax receipt equal to the current value of the stock, but would not pay any tax on the capital gain. To find out more ways to give, visit our web site or contact our Office Administrator, Suzanne Marshall, using the contact information below. All the best to you and your family for a healthy, happy and safe holiday season and New Year!
