Gleichen Pond Hockey 07.05.2021

VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!!! Hi everyone, I apologize for the lateness of this email, however we have been monitoring the announcements from the Province. ... Given the Mandatory 2 Week Pause that had been implemented for tomorrow, we have decided to cancel our practice tonight. Again I apologize for the short notice, however we feel this decision is in the best interest of our members and their families. We will keep on top of all further announcements and ensure that we get updates to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding. Shannon

Hi everyone! So we are on to week 2!!! I just have a few reminders and updates for everyone regarding our Covid-19 Protocols as some concerns have been identified. Please remember that we are very limited in our numbers and therefore we are asking you to limit ONE adult per player when possible (we do understand there are some circumstances that make this difficult). We are trying hard to keep our program going during these crazy times and need everyone's cooperation. Dre...ssing rooms - We need to ensure that we are complying with our Cohort protocols for this so really need parents to understand that unless you are a coach or an assigned changeroom volunteer, you cannot be in the changerooms with your player. I understand this is an issue for players that need help, however that is why we are asking for players to come dressed. Our Coaches and Volunteers will be available to help with skates, helmets and gloves. I totally get this is frustrating, however this is what we need to do in order to be compliant and still have the numbers we have. Arrival/Departure - Please arrive to the arena 15 to 30 minutes prior to your icetime and head directly to the changeroom following check in. We urge everyone to wear a mask during this check in time as maintaining social distancing is difficult in this space. Everyone entering the building is asked to please sanitize their hands as you come in. All players must remain in the changeroom area until instructed by the coaches to head to the ice. Following your icetime return directly to the changeroom and remain there until the next group is on the ice surface. If you are late and there is movement of players in the alleyway please wait until the area is clear. If you do not have a player in the second icetime, we are urging you to please use the South exit located under the stairs. We realize this is out of the way of the main parking lot, however vehicles can park down the side of the building to make this easier. Alleyway traffic - We are urging everyone to use a mask when walking down the alleyway as social distancing is not possible in this space. Lobby Area and Spectator Area - Please respect and maintain social distancing in these areas. We have very limited space and therefore need to limit the amount of people congregating in this area. Once your player is done, we are asking people to please exit the building unless you have a child in the later icetime. I know these are trying times for everyone, however we are doing our best to provide you with a safe and fun hockey season. Please review these guidelines with your players to ensure they understand. We are currently running a waitlist for the program so if you determine that this structure and routine does not fit for your family, please let us know so we can ensure others are able to participate. Thanks for your patience and your understanding. Shannon Zieman

Thank you everyone for your prompt response in getting your registrations in. In our previous emails, we had indicated a confirmation date of Oct 15th and a season start date of Oct 20th. Unfortunately we have had to push these dates back a bit in order to re-evaluate some of our Covid-19 procedures and protocols to ensure we are in compliance with AHS and Hockey Alberta. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I hope you can recognize that this is an ever changing process ...and we want to ensure we are doing our very best to put together a successful season. As a result, we will be confirming all registrations on Oct 22nd and have set our season start date for Nov 3rd. Please note, that invoices will be sent out later in November so please do not try to send in payment. Again I apologize for the delay and I hope you understand the position we are in and the efforts we are making to sort things out. Thanks Shannon Zieman

Good morning everyone! As promised, the registration forms for the 2020/2021 season have been sent off to be uploaded on our website (www.gleichenpondhockey.ca). This may take a some time so please check in throughout the day. All registrations need to be emailed to our registrar: [email protected] ... DO NOT send money with your registration forms, you will receive an invoice once your registration has been confirmed. Please keep in mind the registration times outlined in the previous email. Oct 1 - Oct 7: Registration opens for those families that are current members of our association (registered within the last season). Oct 8 - Oct 12: Registration opens to the general public. Time notations will be made as to when your registration is received. Oct 15 - All players/families will be notified as to whether their request to register was successful and an information package outlining times, dressing rooms etc will be sent out. I understand that you may not agree with some of the protocols or procedures that we will be rolling out, however this is what we need to comply with in order to offer our program. Any disrespect or abuse towards Board Members or Volunteers will not be tolerated. If you do not feel comfortable or disagree with these expectations we ask that you do not register your child this season. Bear with us through these crazy times and I am sure we will have a great season! Thanks everyone!! Shannon

Good evening everyone, my apologies for the late post, however we have just finished up our board meeting. The executive has been working very hard to put together this season and navigate through all of the Covid restrictions and procedures. Several factors are at play and unfortunately, we are still waiting for some clarification on a few things. As it stands, our season is still set to begin on October 20, 2020. Registration forms have been finalized and will be uploaded... tomorrow (again, I apologize for the delay). I will send an email out in the morning with the package as I am unsure as to how soon the website will be updated. Due to constraints that have been placed on us through Covid 19 protocols we have had to tighten up our registration process. The following timelines and expectations have been implemented to aid us in this process (due to all of the protocols required to run our program, those families able to commit to volunteering within the organization throughout the season will be given priority): Oct 1 - Oct 7: Registration opens for those families that are current members of our association (registered within the last season). Oct 8 - Oct 12: Registration opens to the general public. Time notations will be made as to when your registration is received. Oct 15 - All players/families will be notified as to whether their request to register was successful and an information package outlining times, dressing rooms etc will be sent out. I understand that this is not ideal and may upset some, however we have had a drastic reduction in our numbers due to the implementation of Cohort groups and are trying to establish the best possible way to manage this situation. I am asking for your patience and understanding during this time and remind everyone that the executive and coaches of this organization are all volunteers. Thank you again for your patience, Shannon Zieman
