It's official! The Conservative party of BC is establishing its first group of supporters in the Kootenays. Our first meeting is being planned for June. You can join us and get involved by becoming a member at https://www.bcconservative.ca/memberships This meeting is for residents of the Kootenay West riding (Trail, Castlegar, Rossland, Fruitvale, New Denver, Nakusp, and lots of places in-between) with groups in other Kootenay ridings hopefully starting later this year. #conservative #smallgovernment #makeadifference

It's May! That means if you live in the Kootenays and you manage to bust out a half marathon run this month, send me a picture of your route and I'll enter you into a draw for a $100 gift card to the @trailbeerrefinerytaproom . Why am I doing this? Because it gives people something fun to do and it supports a local business that I love. I would have spent that much attending a running event anyway, and I have a lot more fun training when I know other people are training at t...he same time. Today's training routine consisted of 1. Eating an entire jumbo bag of Swedish fish 2. Regretting my life choices 3. Running 10km in under an hour for the first time ever! #running #fishpower #fuelyourbodyright @ Trail, British Columbia

Today I submitted the list of dog park supporters to the City of Trail. It will be included in the report being presented to council. A big thank you to everyone who put their name forward as a supporter. Thank you to the businesses and individuals who volunteered their time, and space in their storefront. I would not have been able to gather this many signatures on my own! What's next? Next there is a small delegation making a presentation to city council in support of a do...g park at an upcoming city council meeting. Stay tuned for more updates! #dogpark #publicsupport

My favourite part about trading my truck for an e-bike is the extra spending money for fun things like eating out and new mountain bikes. E-bikes have improved a lot since I bought mine over 4 years ago . . . it's never been easier than now to ditch a car for a bike. If you want to learn more about my car to bike journey check out this article here! https://livinghere.ca/the-story-continues/ #biking #savemoney #supportlocalbusiness

Are you looking for an excuse to run a half-marathon next month? Well you're in luck! Run your favourite local 21km loop anytime in the month of May and I'll enter you into a draw for a $100 gift card to the @trailbeerrefinerytaproom I've worked my way up to 10km, but there was definitely a lot of walking involved in that second half. Good thing there are still 6 weeks left to train! #halfmarathon #running #supportlocal

Do you want to ride your bike between Rossland, Warfield, Trail, Montrose, and Fruitvale safely? It's being called the South Kootenay Green Link and there are people from many local organizations working to make it a reality, including the West Kootenay Cycling Coalition. If you want to help make this happen, please consider joining the WKCC. The more members we have, the bigger our voice will be! #biking #activetransportation

A story about my journey to bike more and drive less was in the West Kootenay Advertiser this week! Did you see it? There are so many benefits to choosing active transportation instead of a car. Financial benefits, physical benefits, mental benefits, environmental benefits. It's worth considering! You can read the original story online too here : https://livinghere.ca/enjoying-the-benefits-of-an-electric/ #biking #bikecommuting #activetransportation

I want to give a shout out to the City of Trail for starting to put their city council meetings and governance and operation meetings on Youtube! This is really helpful for people like myself who are interested in local politics, but struggle to make it to council meetings in person. Check it out!

Check out my new website! Not everyone likes Facebook and Instagram. I've actually gone years at a time without visiting either site because they were negatively affecting my quality of life at the time. So for those people out there who would rather not be subjected to the glowing eyes of big brother's algorithms I've made a website! It's a place for me to post ideas and projects that will hopefully improve quality of life for people in the Kootenays. Feel free to check it out!
