After extensive consultation, we have now received confirmed details on the Government of Alberta's "Stop the Spike" restrictions announced on Tuesday and the impacts to golf operations. Golf Alberta states: "As of Sunday, May 9 at 11:59 pm, outdoor sports and recreation, including golf, is limited to members of your household; or if living alone, to two close contacts. Members, please check your email and/or the website for full details on modifications to tee time bookings... and other changes. We ask all members to follow the guidelines so we can continue to golf in Alberta. Together we will get through these restrictions and we look forward to returning to "normal" play in the coming weeks. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at [email protected]. As the year comes to a close, we reflect back on the start and the excitement around welcoming new staff and welcoming back members to the golf season. With the challenges that faced us along the way with COVID 19 hitting us in March, we weren’t sure what the year had in store. Luckily with the help and dedication from our staff and the support from our members, we were able to open and even with limitations, we had a fantastic season! New personal goals were reached, new cha...mpions were crowned, we even saw a couple bears join us on a Par 3. As we look back and reflect, we see many positives and just how much we are thankful for. THANK YOU to the membership for being accommodating and understanding of the challenges that were faced. Follow along with our very own Christian Konrad, Sous Chef as he demonstrates how to create a wonderful, festive Apple and Pistachio Stuffing with Dried Cranberries. Ingredients: 3 Apples 1 red onions... Olive oil 1 Tbsp Butter 1 bunch fresh sage (chopped) 1 bunch fresh thyme (chopped) 1 bunch fresh parsley (chopped) 50 g dried cranberries 50 g pistachios (toasted and chopped) 600 g Bread for stuffing 500 ml semi-skimmed milk Ground Cinnamon to taste Ground Nutmeg to taste Method: 1. Preheat the oven to 365F Peel, core and dice the apples, peel and dice the red onions. Lightly toast the nuts in a dry frying pan, then roughly chop. 2. Heat a dash of olive oil and a Tbsp of Butter in a large, wide pan and add the red onion. Cook over a medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 3 to 5 minutes or until the red onions be softened but not coloured. Add the apples, while cooking add the chopped sage, chopped parsley and picked Thyme Sautee for another 3-4 minutes. 3. Add the dried Cranberries and toasted cranberries. Sautee for another 3 minutes, add the milk bring to a boil, then leave to cool. 5. Add the bread to a bowl, pour over the mixture and leave to soak for a few minutes. 6. When cool mix the stuffing and using your hands or a spoon, taste. Add another pinch of sea salt and black pepper if needed. 7. Line a Loaf pan with parchment paper and spray with pan spray (or you can use a baking dish to give you a greater surface for a crispy top). Add the stuffing loosely, then cover with aluminum foil. 8. Bake for 35 minutes, take off the aluminium foil and bake for another 20 minutes or to until golden (when taking off the tin foil, you can add a tbsp. of olive oil to the top of the stuffing for extra crispiness). 9. When finished baking. Use a spoon to scoop out your stuffing onto a serving dish. Decorate with any leftover chopped pistachios, chopped herbs. #glencoegolf #cookingwithChefChristian

Spiked Minted Lemonade Recipe Enjoy this refreshing lemonade with a twist! This drink garnered a lot of attention at our Ladies Member/Member event this season. We thought we’d share it for all to enjoy! INGREDIENTS Lemonade... oz of mint simple syrup (homemade) 1 oz of vodka Lemonade Splash of soda Garnish Lemon wheel Mint sprig INSTRUCTIONS Mint Simple Syrup Cook on high heat equal parts sugar and water. Once mixture reaches a boil, reduce to simmer and add a handful of mint. Simmer on low heat until sugars are dissolved. Allow to cool and then strain simple syrup through a fine mesh strainer to remove larger mint pieces. Lemonade Fill glass with ice. Add simple syrup and vodka. Fill with lemonade. Open Air Movie Night @ GG&CC Join us on Saturday, September 12 to enjoy an open air movie experience with the whole family. This is a family friendly event suitable for all ages.
