Glengarry County & Area books etc.-Alex W Fraser 10.12.2020

I was browsing through an old album of pictures I have on my computer, and I came across this beauty! Both the Capitol Theatre and Cornwall Motor Sales (the whi...te building on the right hand side of it) have been torn down. You can see Trinity Anglican Church in the background. This photo was taken in the late 1980s. Photo taken by Robert Kitchener.

Honouring the role of 4-legged heroes The Dalkeith Historical Society operates from a former Catholic chapel, that took over and later expanded a former commercial building. Exhibits are to be found outside of the building as well as i cornwallcommunitymuseum.wordpress.com

The corner of Montreal and McConnell. You can see the "Beamish" store sign (just to the right of the building.) Did you shop there? Photo Credit: Clive Marin.

I love this picture so much! Street Cars at Pitt and Second, in 1947. This photo is facing West on Second Street. You can see the base of the Post Office, follo...wed by the building complex that now houses Gordon's Jewelers. (This building was once the home of 'The Standard' at one point. This was before it merged with the Freeholder, creating the newspaper were familiar with today.) You can also see the top of the Capitol Theatre in the background. Photo Credit: Ebay.
