This has been a day to put behind us. Thank you to a client for the gift, we are going to go sit for just a minute and regroup!

Glenhaven Stables has had the privilege of hosting a few new boarders in the last several weeks. Our horse family ranges from about 10hh to well over 17hh; from horses starting their sport careers at 4 yrs old, to horses that are living their best retirement lives; some horses are teaching kids, some are challenging their adults. Welcome to all!!

On Saturday, Glenhaven Stables hosted a dressage schooling day with Doreen Horsey. A touch cool, and a touch windy, but 13 horse rider combinations had a great day and new experience.

On Saturday a few of us went out to a dressage schooling day put on by Donna Bassett and Precision Saddle Fitting at the beautiful Cymric Brae Stables. What a great day. Photos by Kris Van Eaton.

A few GH boarders and I take jump lessons with Sandy Alexander each week. Today we went out schooling at RMSJ. Honestly, if this had been any more fun, it would have surely been illegal. Leanne riding Windfall.

Glenhaven Stables has a new logo!!

Today is the day that Glenhaven Stables starts to roll out its new logo and brand. Thank you for all of your support as we have transitioned to new management.

800 sq ft apartment for rent at our equestrian facility. Non-smoking tenant required. Preference will be given to a tenant with horse experience to do night feeding (rent discounted in exchange). Possibility of other part time work available.

Today we went out hacking in the foothills. It was such a fun day for the riders, and a good day for the horses . . . mentally and physically.

Gary has been working hard for all of the boarders. This new fence runs along the east edge of the grass ring and 1) prevents a loose horse from getting out on the road; and 2) will tie into a security gate for the property. Looking good, thanks Gary!!!

Two more sets of poles complete. The kids want a set of pink / purple poles. Then the jump fill / gates need to be painted . . . And then the standards . . .

Thank you to everyone that helped with the blue poles project today. Tomorrow will be for red poles!

Well, today was Thursday jump day again, but I said I would post a dressage video next!!! A short clip of my harder change . . . Working on keeping the balance and connection all the way up to, and through, the change.

Next post will be dressage related . . . but on Thursdays we jump!!!! Many of our boarders enjoy expert guidance from Mr. Sandy Alexander.

At this time, Glenhaven can not accept visitors or guests. Horse owners and management have set up a rotational schedule allowing owners to come to the barn and attend to their horses. We ask your cooperation and understanding to keep our staff and family safe and healthy. Thank you.

In this video you see one of the youngest boarders at Glenhaven Stables learning the nuances of contact and keeping her pony on the bit. Teaching (always positive and kind) is Janet Adams, a certified and insured coach that works out of Glenhaven regularly. Boarders are welcome to use one of the insured coaches already teaching at the facility, or bring in an insured coach of their choosing. It is one of the ways that Glenhaven Stables respects the needs of our boarders.
