Important Update: It has now been confirmed by the epidemiologists that Covid-19 is an AIRBORNE contagion. The droplets fall to the ground almost right away, but the mini particles remain in the air for a long time. Which means, you could be on the other side of the street from someone walking by, both breathing normally, and inhale some particles. Or, you could be minutes behind someone walking the same path, and inhale particles when you get to that general vicinity as it spreads out on the air currents. Also, they have now confirmed masks help protect you as well as others. Just thought you should know.
With the welcome addition of the new Glenora Community Facebook page, and with Glenora Hall being closed for the time being, I will for now suspend the weekly Thought Of The Week commentaries. Thanks to all of you who have kindly dropped by the Glenora Community Association Facebook page each week.
Thought Of The Week And now, for something a bit different . . . while we’re being homebodies, no doubt we’ve been finding ways to keep ourselves entertained, other than TV, videos, etc. Here is a free quick-download jigsaw puzzle program I greatly enjoy. I prefer using my own photos or pictures I find through Google Images (backgrounds, etc.), rather than use or purchase any of theirs. Here is the website: https://www.kraisoft.com/puzzle-games/jigsaw/. It’s free, no ads, doesn’t expire. Just click on User (top left corner), click Create and browse your photos to copy some into User. You choose how many puzzle pieces, etc. and enjoy. I’ve played it for years. Your turn! Anything you’d like to share that you use to keep boredom at bay?
Effective immediately, all BC Parks are closed to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Stay close to home this long weekend and help keep people all over BC safe. Do not go to provincial parks or travel to smaller communities. More info: http://bcparks.ca/
Thought Of The Week This pandemic has been called a war, but it is one like no other we have fought in living memory. During the world wars, most North American combatants went afar to do battle; now we fight by staying put. Togetherness was encouraged during other wars; in this one, seclusion is required. Sharing of critical information in wartime was dangerous or even treasonous; now worldwide cooperation is required to defeat a common enemy which cares nothing for borders. Perhaps never before in history has we need each other been so true or so global. With climate change and the risk of future pandemics in mind, might we finally start putting our differences behind us and focus on saving our collective bacon? It may seem unlikely, but there is always a chance.
