Good afternoon Glenora residents! This afternoon's post has to do with an issue that has come to our attention. There have been young people observed climbing on to the roof of both Westminster School and the Glenora Community League building. They have been seen throwing things at people below. The school has been made aware and volunteer Brad is trying to sort the problem on the GCL. This situation is very dangerous as the kids appear to be using very unsafe methods of climbing up there and one route is an electrical shock risk. If you can, please take a moment to speak to your teens about how dangerous this is. Thank you!

The Glenora Community League has received the draft artistic rendering from our landscape architect on the community redevelopment project and need to get some feedback from the community! Community members, your feedback is essential as it will inform the decisions of the Committee, show the City of Edmonton that we have the community's backing, and will be used to apply for grants to help fund the redevelopment. The survey will be open until August 31. Visit glenoracl.com to take the survey and for more information about the community redevelopment project. We look forward to hearing from many of you on this important community project!

Call for volunteers! You may have seen the post this morning about our redevelopment survey. In order to reach everyone in the neighbourhood (and not just those on Facebook!) we are printing a pamphlet with information on project and need to deliver them to each home's mailbox in the neighbourhood. This may be a great opportunity for Westminster students to get some IB hours out of the way or for a resident looking to get involved with their community! The cards will be finished on Monday and can be picked up with an assigned chunk of streets for delivery shortly thereafter. If you are interested in helping out (or volunteering your teenager!) please drop us a message here or email [email protected]. Thank you!

Not the most exciting post you’ll see all day..... but two new garbage cans have been added to the basketball courts - we have been battling wind, rain and birds! Hopefully these will help. Thank you to the community members for your efforts to keep the courts clean. Also - Shout out to volunteer Wes for whacking some serious weeds this morning!

Glenora Community League 09.03.2020

Big day at the courts today! Two new backboards installed and new signage to include hours (7:00 am - 10:00 pm) and rules for use of the courts. Thank you to volunteers Brad, Jen, Peter and Margot. We even recruited a basketball playing neighbour who happened to be there this evening to lend us some muscle installing those (heavier than they look!) backboards. Thanks Dan!
