Today we had a super fun group of adult riders who got the idea to ride a horse from watching Yellowstone! One of the riders was real nervous to begin with - but Patches helped him conquer his fears and check horseback riding off of his bucket list! They even brought the horses tons of carrots and enjoyed feeding and loving the horses after their ride. We hope to see them all in the saddle again soon! Meet Keeper! Keeper is a registered Standardbred mare who is new to Glen Valley Stables. She’s a lovely girl who stands about 15.2hh and sports a beautiful dark bay coat. Keepers registered name is Keepsake V and she was a harness racehorse in her younger years. Fortunately for us, she’s was too slow to be a successful racehorse and that’s what makes her an excellent candidate for our program. For the month of January we will be introducing our horses. Some of our herd have been with us for quite some time, some of our horses are newer to Glen Valley Stables. We will introduce them all! Meet Freckles! Many of you have likely seen him pictured or even met him in person. This guy is an Appaloosa gelding who has been with Glen Valley Stables for well over a decade. This boy is tried and true, he’s honest and he’s kind. From new and nervous riders, to accomplished an...d experienced riders, Freckles is a professional. He loves kids and he takes his job as trail horse seriously. He’s shown countless riders just how wonderful horses really are. Freckles is 19yrs old and stands at 15.2hh. Glen Valley Stables makes trail rides even safer in times of COVID Glen Valley Stables has increased COVID-19 protocols to better protect guests and employees. In addition to our thorough sanitation hygiene protocol in effect since re-opening in May, masks are now required for both guests and employees. Group rides have been temporarily suspended for all but families of four or more from the same household. Private rides remain available for smaller groups. This policy will b...e revisited on Monday, November 23 and will follow provincial health guidelines. Going on a trail ride in an outdoor environment remains a relatively low-risk COVID activity, and Glen Valley Stables is doing our best to keep it that way. At no point during a Glen Valley Stables’ riding experience will guests be indoors with others. Riders meet us at our outdoor office in Campbell Valley Park 1255 208 St, Langley. Hosts will be wearing masks and request that guests do as well. Masks will be provided should anyone forget to bring their own. Hand sanitizer is available for use while signing up. Masks must be worn at that time and while getting onto a horse, after which guests are welcome to remove them as everyone is naturally physically distanced while riding a horse down the trail. Masks must be worn again while guests are being helped down from the saddle at the end of their ride. Saddles are sanitized between guests, as are helmets. Hand sanitizer is available for everyone’s use after rides. Glen Valley Stables would like to thank all our guests very much for continued patronage of our trail riding business.
