So excited tell you about this stained glass moon.. it's being raffled off with three other glass artists in support of @davidsuzukifdn (link in profile/stories)! I used recycled sari from @unfetteredco (so fitting for a raffle for the earth!) and cute little star crystals hang among the sari - swipe to see the details. What do you think? I'll never make another one exactly like this, but should I make some similar ones for future drops?

So in love with these peaches. Up until now, the peach, I have only being using patterns from last year's collection (I bought glass JUST FOR THE LEMONS and never got to make more than a few). When I dropped the lemons on social, it got a bit out of hand - so many suggestions for other fruit. I'm here for it. Making fruit is such a fun break from wreaths and pretty much allows me to ignore life... but I'll be back working on them soon too! Just few days left of my office job...

EARTH DAY 2021 FUNDRAISER by #GlassFamCanada Swipe the album for all info on how to donate + enter giveaway ! From April 22nd 3PM EST to May 7th 3PM EST you can donate on our fundraiser page (link in bio). All proceedings will go to the @davidsuzukifdn , a canadian non-profit that has shown restless dedication throughout the years towards creating a healthier future for all. Check out their account to learn more about their work, or their website atdavidsuzuki.org.... To show our gratitude, once the fundraiser is over we will pick 1 donor to win the Earth themed stained glass bundle we made for this event (total value of 600$ CAD). We will never ask for credit card information, DO NOT provide any personal information to anyone claiming to be a part of this event. We will contact winners by email and only ask for a shipping address. Fake winner announcement accounts are now frequent, they will steal our logos and event info and just change part of the handle so it looks like ours. They will be private accounts with no posts, they are easy to spot. If you are contacted by one, please report and block them. This is in no way affiliated with Instagram or Facebook. This is not a partnership with the David Suzuki Foundation but a personal effort by #GlassFamCanada to try to make a difference on this special day. #EarthDay2021 #FUNdraiser #GlassFam #GlassForEarth #DavidSuzukiFoundation #stainedglassart #stainedglass #natureinspiredart #earthday

Can we talk about that shadow? Usually I avoid shadows, but wow.. soft shapes, sharp shadows. That's the kind of intense light that only happens at sunrise If you're an artist trying to take photos, mid-day when the sun is highest is usually your best bet. It's almost impossible to replicate the light of the sun with indoor lighting - but we try! I know this is tough for those who hustle part time, but if you can grab that light, you'll be rewarded. I use a huge soft box light for my filming (most of which is done at night) and I still don't think its light enough!

Gemstone beauty! Are you a fan of crystals? I showed this to my 5 year old and she told me it was beautiful, did a double take and then said "OMG THERE'S A CRYSTAL IN IT!" - If only I had been recording! .. I'm not going to lie, I kind of feel the same way as she does about crystals .

How to impress a glass artist - the last one is a shocker...! What impresses you?

This wreath makes me think of fun and sun, despite being on a moon frame. So maybe it's fun by super bright moonlight? Whatever it is, it's fun, right? Some special dichroic glass makes this one extra sparkly. Part of the shop update tonight at 8:30 p.m. MT

How do you feel about Instagram live? I soldered this guy live on TikTok and it was such a blast to connect with my followers and "meet" some of the glass artists I admire from afar. Do you ever tune into live sessions on instagram or if you would prefer for me to post progress in my stories? I'm trying to be better at posting, but, I have like 16 projects in different stages.

"Comparison is the thief of joy." - Theodore Roosevelt. Find where you heart and soul meet your art and artistic tastes. Be happy being you, not a trend or a fad- you! I still have to remind myself every single day that likes and follows don't mean everything. It's a hard lesson to swallow. When I create art that is true to me, I am fulfilled and I think that resonates more than any trend or popular motif ever will. I find so much joy in this little unfinished basement studio with each new creation I put out into the world. To all new and budding artists out there (and even established artists) - my advice is simple, just have fun! Work on your craft and produce things that make YOU happy. It will resonate, even if it doesn't trend, I promise! XO from lost soul to another

GLOWING // On Jan 1, I marked EIGHT years since I started Glimpse Glass as a lil @etsy shop. I didn't have many expectations at that time. Sell a few things, share my passion for glass and have fun. It has been so much more than that. Not just sales and followers, but a whole new network of friends, growth and recognition in my craft (although I've kept true to my style..) and a ton of good (and frustrating) times. So much more to come guys. It's going to be fun! Thanks for your support, love and even your real talk. XO - Kara PS< sneaking in this photo of a mottled beauty from a lil while ago now home in Florida. What do you think of the "holes" in the transparency of the glass? I die for it, other than being hard to cut, it is so so pretty. Holes or glow? Feature of flaw? I feel a philosophical question here somewhere.

"She will sow good seeds, even in uncertainty" - @morganharpernichols This year has been crazy, but in darkness I have found a bright spot in expressing myself through art. My step dad, who makes many of the ornaments and such, has never been happier. Glass gives him purpose. Thank you for allowing us (my mom too!) to grow and share our joy. By the way, if you don't like thank you posts and me professing my love for you, you might get bored because I am feeling super thankful right now. Watch for a special wreath giveaway after Christmas . This one is headed off to a lovely customer.
