GPDC UPDATED NOVEMBER 9-26 Donations Thank you Miriam Manaog Ferrer for sharing pictures of Montalban, Rizal for relief distribution. From Miriam Manaog F...errer Thanks so much Treenee, to GPDC, and FilIpino-Canadian friends in Vancouver, for your immediate help in providing cash to purchase relief goods for our devastated kababayans here in Montalban, Rizal. Blessings to you all Miriam and her family bought, packed and brought the relief goods of food and supplies badly needed. on November14 and 17 to Kasiglahan Village in Montalban,Rizal. Global Pinoy Diaspora Canada and Vancouver Friends responded to our good friend Miriam Manaog Ferrer requesting help. We were able to send through direct donations to GPDC S1000 on November 17. A full account of the money distributed for the Kasiglahan Village is attached in this report. from Miriam Manaog Ferrer. I’m so grateful for all the donations we received which we then send directly to our contact people needing the help. I also would like to mention another fundraising through Facebook with the monies collected online sent to the Canadian Red Cross with dedicated account set up for the Philippine typhoon victims The fundraising was spearheaded by Narima Dela Cruz of Surrey Philippine Independence Day Society (SPIDS) and invited GPDC and Alvin Koh Relleve.to join and support the online fundraising. Whichever way people would want to send their donations are all welcomed with my hope it would reach more generous people to donate so more help can be sent to the devastated areas in the Philippines. With Christmas just around the corner one can feel more pain for the typhoon victims as the needs will be stronger and more difficult for the victims to be joyous when they don’t know when or where the next help would arrive. It’s not easy to rebuild after the typhoon and the COVID still rummaging the country. Please if able to continue to donate For the GPDC update. we had collected from November 9-17. $2000 cash which we sent the first $1000 to Bicol to Barangay Casuray in Camarines Sur through our contact Shiela Elecanal and the 2nd $1000 to Kasiglahan Village. Monies were sent November 12 and November 17 From November 18- 25 the following monies were donated (GPDC) Sheryl U. Dela Pena. $50 Buena Kilala Chua. $100 Kay Sanchez $50 Olivia Laserna $40 MalouSanchez./Tony Begg $40 Everything Wine (North $270 Vancouver Branch Tory Martin And staff c/o Lutchie Lirio ) TOTAL as off Nov 26.as above.

The Canadian Blood Services in Vancouver through Stephanie Pedersen Territory Manager /Donor Relations is appealing to our community to give the gift of life b...y donating blood this holiday season- one of the greatest gifts one can give. Global Pinoy Diaspora Canada (GPDC) is proud to partner with CRC to spread the message to our FilCan community, our friends to consider donating blood and to register for stem cell donor ( ages 17-35 ) Of course donating blood does not have to be just this holiday season the need is throughout the year and we don’t know when anyone from our family or people we care may need it. A group donation can be arranged as with friends( following the COVID Health guidelines ) please let me know or Ms. Pedersen to arrange THANK YOU Treenee

Updated Donations GPDC November 17, 2020 THANK YOU Request for help from Miriam Manaog Ferrer for Kasiglahan Village in Montalban, Rizal Philippines Novem...ber 13, 2020 Hi Treenee. These are photos from a community called Kasiglahan Village in the town of Montalban, Rizal where I grew up. The community was built beside the river directly below the Sierra Madre mountain ranges which feed the Marikina river. Water quickly rose in the early hours of Thursday November 12 fully inundating houses and people had no choice but to climb on their roofs and wait for rescue. Many residents rescued are now temporarily sheltered in nearby public schools. Neil and I will buy some stuff to donate directly to them this weekend. I would like to ask help from anyone in Vancouver who would like to donate. Any amount will help and all donations will be used to buy the supplies for the evacuees. Thank you in advance Please send donations to GPDC through me and will send via Interac to Miriam ( as agreed) saves fees Please note on memo: GPDC Typhoon KV I created a GPDC Event page to post all donations received This is not tax deductible.
