Corrie ten Boom once said, There is no pit so deep, that God’s love is not deeper still. People who don’t know Jesus, who have never had an opportunity to hear the Gospel and find the hope and life He offerswell, they often live in very deep, dark spiritual pits. Yet they’re not beyond God’s reach. Luc, the director, share what God did when their disciple-makers went on outreach. After winning many souls to Christ, he wrote, our church planters entered the jail. They me...t Mr S who was a big leader of a gang of robbers. According to Luc, these were no small-time petty thieves, but a gang notorious for violence and criminal activity. Mr S was their chiefhe was in jail because he’d been arrested for rape. Two of his right-hand men had come to visit him that day. Then in came these newly-trained disciple-makers! God gave the disciple-makers grace in the eyes of these notorious criminals, and the three men all heard the message of the Gospel that day. Not only that, but each one of them received Jesus Christ as his Savior! Mr S., the gang leader, testified about his lifehis journey into crime, confessing his sins and all the terrible things he had done. It was a long story to tell, but he praised God for saving him, for reaching into his dark and sinful pit and pulling him out with the love and salvation of Jesus. What a glorious story of redemption took place in that jail that day! Corrie was rightGod’s love is deeper than any pit we fall in or make for ourselves out of our sin and rebellion. His reach is long, and His arm is strong to save each person who calls on His name. And He calls us to share that message with anyone we meet, wherever we are today!

What happens when the Lord brings least-reached people to your doorstep, instead of sending you to them? Asher leads a discipleship-mission training program in Kenya. Global Disciples trained him and for several years now he’s been developing and sending out disciple-makers. But they don’t to go far to find least-reached people! Asher reported, I work with refugees in the community where I have my program and my church. We just trained our third group of South Sudanese and B...urundians. I have to use 2 languages! He found that some who came to the training had been in church but had no real understanding of salvation and living for Christ. The first work was to see the Holy Spirit bring spiritual regeneration! Then these new believerstrained and equippedwent on to lead another 30 people to the Lord during outreach. Asher also sees a great opportunity among the Somali peopleanother refugee group with deep roots in Islam. We need prayer for God to break through so we can reach our Muslim neighbors, he said. There are over 400 thousand that have yet to be reached. It’s hard workone obstacle Asher talked about is that, We can get Somali Bibles, but most of the people don’t know how to read or write. He said, God has opened doors. As I have worked with them, I have also been teaching them their ABCs. Pray for favor and resources to meet their needs and to teach them. Another obstacle is the mindset and perception the Somalis have about Christians. They always tell us that Muslims take care of the Muslims, Asher said, but where are the Christians? They say if our Muslim religion is helping us, why should we change? Christians are ridiculed and mocked. But Asher and his disciple-makers are not put offfor one simple reason. As he put it: We pray for their salvationthe Muslims are heaven material! Someone needs to be with them and tell them about Jesus!

We partner with men like Pastor Rafey, in south-central India, an extraordinary pastor and leader who has faced many challenges. But he is always quick to tell you, We have a vision to plant 10-thousand churches in our region. So how has Global Disciples helped?... Pastor Rafey explained when he shared his story with other leaders recently: We had three three problems which Global Disciples helped us with. First, we started with the need to equip church planters. I could not send them all to Bible school. When we started the discipleship-mission training, it helped us so much. The second problem was how to support these new church planters. Pastor Rafey went on, Then we added Global’s small business training and Global has trained many. And we have continued to train even more. I raised funds for over 200 church planters to have a grant to start their business. They are doing very well. And finally, Pastor Rafey continued I had a problem of how to strengthen the church leaders. And found that Global Disciples offers leadership training. We have used this and it has helped us so much. I don’t have any words to express my thanks for the way these trainings have helped us. As Global Disciples we’re privileged to be used by God to meet these needs by providing training in discipleship-mission, leadership, and small business development, to indigenous churches in more than 50 countries. Pastor Rafey expressed our shared vision when he said, I want to see church multiplication, and believe that the secret is to empower and equip all believers to be evangelists and disciple-makers.

We had 15 participants the first year, Vihaan said. For outreach, they went house to house and prayed for many people. This encouraged our disciple-makers and ten new house fellowships were started. We asked them to go to three different places, where they also began fellowships. And they’re now taking care of these churches. In the second training, more people came from three districts and we saw the fruit of further outreach, praying for people, making new disciples, a...nd planting more fellowships. Vihaan says, In many difficulties, God has helped us. When an older woman and follower of Jesus, died, she was the first Christian to pass away in this community so her burial became an issue. Family members and neighbors insisted the body should be burned, according to their religious custom. But the pastor and others stood firm, and Vihaan said, We made a coffin and since there is no graveyard, we went and buried the body. God gave us the strength to do these things. In another village, a woman who was a new believer called one night because her son had been kidnapped! Vihaan said, We began to pray. And in the morning I rode my bicycle to their village and encouraged them saying, ‘he is God’s child and he will come back.’ As we prayed, someone dropped off the boy. We asked him what had happened but he was so afraid, he couldn’t give any names. We found out later there were some who were opposing us who had taken him captive, but God had freed him and brought him home. Despite these difficulties, Vihaan said, God is doing a mighty thing in our place. And we praise God for this! And so do we, as Vihaan and those he’s training seek to share the Gospel of Jesus among people who need to hear it.
